Just got back from Toyota with a Launch bulletin. You can put a deposit down now (1k) but officially the order book opens next Tuesday (12th)
Demo cars due to arrive June.
It would appear both models are fully loaded with paint the only option.

Just put a deposit down. The auto has the extra safety bits from what I could work out. The red paint was £900 extra Delivery July. Website goes live Monday

Likewise put a holding deposit down, refundable if I don't like the test drive (unlikely - I used to have an early GT86). Demos expected around June, with first customer deliveries July (probably end of).

Manual in Electric Blue - they don't know how much extra the paint will be yet

Toyota's useless - GR86 is advertised on their UK website for nearly a year now, and it's still not open for preorder without any indication when (as if they fear 'fierce' competition).
I'd seriously want to screw GR86 and get the new M240i or wait for Honda.

The GR86 was always destined for a launch in Spring '22. Have you made contact with your local dealer for updates?

So I've had my initial 'deposit' at the dealers refunded and I've ordered via the Toyota website (eventually). Not a process I've ever done before, so lets see how long it takes to arrive . . .
