There are no dealer demonstrators coming now. No real need for obvious reasons.
There will be a number available directly from Toyota for those who have ordered, and want to drive one. (Similar to when the Supra was launched)
The nominated specialists from the GR centres, do have have a training/launch event in November.

Makes sense. I suspect most would still have the car without a test drive anyway so more (very limited) stock to customers. There will be a number available directly from Toyota for those who have ordered, and want to drive one. (Similar to when the Supra was launched)

Is that an official Toyota position re the demos, or Chinese (Japanese!) whispers? There will be a number available directly from Toyota for those who have ordered, and want to drive one. (Similar to when the Supra was launched)

What do people think the first GR86 listed on Collecting Cars will sell for?
Around list. The reviews whilst good are not 5 star and heaped with praise like the Yaris was. These I would say are more niche as it’s just an updated version of a car that didn’t sell in huge numbers anyway. doogle83 said:
If you have an order then speak to Toyota UK, you will be able to do a test drive.
Asked our dealer and he said he’s getting a demo, even knows what colour it is, will be contacting people with orders for test drive. Plus, he’s already sold it to someone once demo period is over, so that does sound like they are getting one if it’s already sold!ecsrobin said:

Plenty of 5 star reviews heaped with praise - we must be reading different outlets! The GT86 was a flawed car when it was launched and had pretty divisive styling, plus it came out at a time when there was an abundance of RWD manual sports coupes for sale.
It's now pretty much in a class of one, with much nicer styling, critically acclaimed driving dynamics and may quite possibly be the last of its kind. Add that to the fact that its a limited release with a huge waiting list...
I would say the only thing dampening values now is interest rates / access to finance, but I can't imagine these going for less than £35k.

Review scores have been high but they’ve been quite varied at the high end. The Yaris scores being nearly all 100% and the ability to put an order in when the reviews came out created hype which pushed up prices at the beginning.
As you can’t buy one the reviews only cater for those who ordered one and so no hype generated that could push prices up. Of course I could be wrong but I still suspect it to be close to list (excluding fees).

You only have to look at the Porsche GT market as an example. If you want a bog standard Carrera, it might have 5 star reviews, but you won’t have people shelling out 100% over list to have one in their garage. An extreme example yes, but the same human emotions are at play here.
Humans covet things that have a perceived rarity. The GR86 will be an exceptionally rare beast, just 400 UK examples, and the market will duly recognise that.

Looks good in silver.Guessing you work at a Toyota dealer? I heard a rumour that today was a GR86 training day or something for GR centres receiving the new 86.
Let us know what you think! Hoping my own car will be delivered in the next few weeks.

Toyota have the circuit booked yesterday and today. Was very wet around here yesterday and this morning. Guessing you work at a Toyota dealer? I heard a rumour that today was a GR86 training day or something for GR centres receiving the new 86.

It goes very well, It’s pretty wet here today, so hard to give a decent ‘review’ as it were.Guessing you work at a Toyota dealer? I heard a rumour that today was a GR86 training day or something for GR centres receiving the new 86.

Also trying the Supra manual.

What's your favourite colour?
If it was my own money, I’d probably go for the light Blue, but the Silver looked really nice in person.I think anyone who has ordered one is going to love the car.
Dealer demos are arriving (at GR centres only) this week onwards. Manuals only though.
