What's the reason for selling, if you don't mind me asking?
Needed some cash for other projects so had to go back to having a single car that has some sort of practicality. Well practical ish.

Not much to say that hasn't already been said on the forum. Great car if a little quicky .

Alpine Winchester gave me a good value for the car. Speak to James, very nice man and won't mess you around. I think I could have made £45000 if I went the Private route but not for me....

I see it's up on thier website already.
Just sold my Legende privately 69 plate Oct 19. owned from new was offered £43000 from Winchester but managed to get £45,500 bought it as a weekend fun car but decided I could,nt justify it sitting in the garage anymore hardly being used only 5500mls

I agree with a lot of your points, but…
  • I found at 6'4" / 194cm tall the cabin is one of the most comfortable places I've ever driven in. It's better than my old Vantage by far, definitely as good as my old 981 Boxster. I think the cabin space makes up for the tiny storage compartments front and rear.
  • The infotainment is terrible. But I just bluetooth my phone to it, and have the phone on a magnetic charging mount. That's fine. Leave the main screen for the telematics.
  • Stop start is the first thing I switch off immediately on starting the car (since the alternator issue I'm paranoid about it)
Anyway… it is absolutely the most fun machine. It's bonkers good.
Which mount do you use - seen a number of recommendations on here - got one that goes in the vent but it isnt great

Hello fellow Alpine enthousiasts! I’ve just started breaking in my ‘22 A110 GT and loving every minute of it

I am wondering if any of you have experienced some slight gear whistle or whine?.

I am used to the terrible noise of differential whine of my E36 track toy, but this seems gearbox related (only makes the pronounced whining noise in 5th)

Hope to hear from your experiences, thanks!

Thats a great price if you think about it in terms of depreciation. Not many cars these days will hold their value that well despite what we are being led to believe. Used car prices defiantly on the decline. Was also not using mine enough, just 3500 miles in 18 months and that was not due to Covid. Spending more time in the GR Yaris now and really loving it more and more. I guess I’ve already forgotten how good the Alpine was to drive smile

Can’t say I have tbh Tom - my car is only a few weeks old and has done just under 600 miles. Lots of pleasant noises and looking forward to opening up the revs soon. Will keep an ear out for it now you’ve mentioned….odd that it’s one gear only.

So folks - i'm keen to pull the trigger on one of these and before I go into battle with the dealer i'd like some advice.

a) Must have options? I have my own ideas but would appreciate some feedback.

b) Is it possible to get a deal out of the dealer or is it list price take it or leave it? I know its a bespoke car, but not one thats sold out for months and months so is there scope to do a deal? What are peoples experiences?

My current thoughts on spec:
Pure + Sports Exhaust + Parking Camera + Fuchs Wheels & Brakes upgrade + Focal + Al Pedals + Floormats + Passenger Footrest

I didn't get a discount at all. I feel the dealers are still in "high demand" mode.

I think your spec is perfect. If you want more power you can just get a remap to the 'S' spec.

Then get the Life110 Paddles and geo and you have the perfect car.

I didn’t get any discount on mine albeit it was over 2 years ago.

Your spec is almost exactly what I went into the dealer to buy and walked out having purchased an S biggrin

Hi Oscar.

I found this one holds the phone securely 99% of the time. Rarely I'll hit a bump and my iPhone 13 Pro in the clear MagSafe case will break loose but most of the time it's pretty secure and convenient. I have plugged into the rear charging socket by the 'cup holder' and tucked the cable along the trim to feed it to the central vent. ESR HaloLock Magnetic Wireless Car Charger - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B094QR2BQL/ref...

I am tempted to buy the extortionately priced but quite smart looking custom mount from MP-Rezeau:

Does anyone find the aluminium pedals slippy when wet? They look pretty but I fear they are less practical/safe than the standard rubber ones. I have no experience with metal pedals, so forgive my ignorance.

Had a similar discussion to Matt3001 Friday - no discounts - I found the storage package container useful (albeit nearly £ 500....)

No discount for me

I didn't order the mirror pack or reversing camera, although the car came with both. Could quite happily live without them too.

On top of what you've listed I added the Alpine logos on the side as I think they finish it off quite nicely and they aren't that expensive. For storage, I bought 2 of the side storage boxes which are about £65 each.

Life110 shift paddles are a must-have IMO too!

As others have said, Alpine generally don't discount.
When I bought mine in December 2019, I negotiated a few free extras like Alpine Floor Mats and Locking Wheel Nuts (in Black), which I think is about all you're likely to be offered, depending on the Dealer.
Don't forget to consider an Alpine storage pannier too, which are IMHO essential, for about £70.
Good luck...!

Thank you for your reply Tony. I am currently at about 600 miles too. I might be a little too cautious and anxious for any strange noise. This is the first ‘new’ car I’ve owned for long term enjoyment. As I said I am used to a rattling e36 and a ‘61 Landrover. I can imagine it makes a difference that the engine+gearbox is closer to my ears and there isn’t as much soundproofing I assume. How are you coping with the break-in period?

You might expect that sound proofing has been sacrificed on the alter of lightness - but, as I think you will find, even at high speed the car is surprizingly quiet - more so than a Cayman, for example. That said there is a bit of whine which you notice at modest speed, the odd bit of turbo noise too -but not enough to interfere with conversation.

I'm still waiting for my car, so this is good news, because I didn't order these either. I'd have ordered the camera, but they would only sell me this if I had the parking sensors, which I didn't want (I don't like the way they look). With the mirrors, I converted my non folding mirrors on my Evora using a £10 part from ebay & I was hoping to do the same with my Alpine. £400, or whatever it was, for the folding mirrors, seemed a bit much.

I ticked even fewer options boxes than you, @Matt3001, although one of these was the ridiculously expensive paint option. No discount for me either. The dealer kindly added a blue steering wheel centre FOC, because I explained a black one would be annoying on a blue car, & a blue one would be annoying because it's £70 & must cost the same to manufacture & install as a black one. They also agreed to transport the car a fair distance to my PPF man, & take £20k of the payment on a credit card (on which I'll earn cashback then do a free transfer to my new 2 year 0% card).

Having said @WWW's free camera is good news, I'm now worried my car is going to turn up with free parking sensors - that would be very annoying. I think the law is changing, & all new cars must be delivered with these or a reversing camera from 2023.

Talking of strange noises...

The car goes in for it's first service tomorrow, just a few days after our 3500 KM road trip - I'll make a summary of what we learnt on the Road Trip thread, seems the best place for it.

During the latter stages of the trip, a strange intermittent noise has developed when accelerating or taking the foot off the gas, and it sometimes occurs when going over a bump. It's nothing mechanical but something that sounds loose around the air-intake on the passenger side, a slightly metallic rattling sound of something that's worked itself loose, or perhaps something which has been sucked into the air-intake and is now reverberating against some metal inside.

It's not constantly there but it has become more obvious since I first noticed it a week ago or so.

A long shot I know, but has anyone else come across the same noise or can hazard a guess on what it may be? I'll be getting the mechanic to sit in the passenger seat to help fathom out what it could be.

M.

Who was the dealer you used? DM me if easier?
