I drove my friends V6 manual last weekend, have to say i was a bit disappointed.

Whilst being stunning to look at, the interior seemed a little shoddy, the manual gearbox was so notchy, I had trouble finding the right gears, although I’d probably get used to it.

It was pretty quick, but noisy inside.

Steering and handling, superb.

I’m just not sure I could live with it as a daily driver.

I’d like to try the 2.0 auto.

It was a joy to get back in the Golf R for the journey home, didn’t feel much slower and a much nicer place to be. Obviously a very different car
An Emira noisy inside?
Blimey, ever driven an Exige or Evora? laugh

I also have a Golf R20 and it really is dull in comparison to any Lotus!

Good luck taking ppf off an Emira with 'chocolate' paint what could possibly go wrong.

Only slight concern that I have, is if the cars are that good why are so many people selling them so soon into ownership?

Possibly for similar reasons to Harry Metcalfe - huge depreciation potential...

If you’re buying one at mid 50’s that’s a lot of depreciation taken care of.

The bigger issue for me is what appear to be the many faults and the absolute balls ache of getting them sorted.

Lotus had issues with build quality and parts on the Elise/Exige and these were more basic than the Emira……..seems nothings improved even with the gazillions pumped in.

A modern Golf R contains oceans of nice plastic and touch screens. The headlining on the Emira is suede. The dash and door cards and seats are covered with leather or alcantara. The stalks and switches and everything you touch is, in my opinion, far nicer and more special than something like a 718.
A Golf R is quick and practical and good on fuel. It’s not a bespoke sports car in a month of Sundays and it doesn’t claim to be. I’d suggest if you like the performance and usability of a Golf R, the compromise, noise and ownership of a 3.5 V6 sports car may not be for you. The dealers are relatively few and far between as well.
Emira may well have left people wanting more at £90k but at closer to £60k, there is nothing like it.

Noisy inside? What, the sound of the 3.5L V6 supercharged engine? I think that's one of the main reasons why most people buy one, it certainly was for me! You could have tried it in tour mode, it's quieter, apparently, although I have only driven about 2 miles in tour and only when I've forgotten to switch modes!

Maybe stick with the Golf R, I don't think the Emira is for you.

Much the same as me but I actually bought an Emira i4 with the 2.0 Auto LOL Coming from my 2022 Renaultsport Megane Sport 300 the comfort level is not something I was expecting....so the Emira is being sold this week for what will be the lowest price in the UK for a recent i4 to go to someone who can appreciate it more than I was able to! (did 1200 miles in 3 weeks more than enough for me to know its not the right car for me). My £10K in 1 month depreciation hit is a prime example of get a test drive BEFORE you consider buying one!

For UK roads I think you need the Touring suspension setup...in USA lots of Emira owners have been complaining about the harsh ride...I just think its a stunning looking car & the i4 has an amazing engine sound & supercar performance (ingear it can go from 20-70 in the blink of an eye so you have to be very careful about when you unleash the potential).

Interior is ok I thought but the controls are fiddly from the entertainment system that needed more time but its built around being setup as voice activated (something I did not spend time on once it became clear to me it was not something I could keep for long due to long standing lower back issues the sports chassis amplified causing me great discomfort).

So keeping my Golf R slayer peasants car instead!! RS Megane Sport 300 with 4 Control 4 wheel drive steering system giving immense cornering performance plus 162 mph top speed...if only the Emira had the same cornering performance & ride comfort it would have stayed & the RS would have gone!!

I'm wondering if there's a third reason...
1 all the issues
2 depreciation
3 a bit flawed

Now I'm thinking that the v6 doesn't deliver very well. It has a small useful rev band. It's a bit sluggish low down, gets going then runs out of puff almost immediately at the red line.

This is compensated for by the exhaust noise. That seems to be what always gets the focus when reviews talk about the engine.

New advert on this private car being sold which has been on auto trader before so probably just renewed his advert.

Seems good value now at 55k for a seneca v6 manual

not sure if its black pack or not as has silver badging?

That is an incredibly poor advert/photos.

But hey, at that price I’m sure it will sell.

Scrapyard background. Horse feeding bucket used to wash.

Chavplate.

Silver badging on a blackpack.

Horrific advert. No photos of interior.

Its a left swipe.
