Had the engine management light come on recently.
O2 sensor faults, possibly from a low battery or from a short distance drive that didn’t let them get up to required temperature.
That’ll teach me, last time I offer to pick the missus up from the train station, and I’ll have to make sure I take hour long drives on B-roads every week from now on…
Cleared the codes and they haven’t come back, so fingers crossed.
Currently on a tour of the north incorporating the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales. It’s a wonderful car, I’ve never felt so confident going into corners as in this Emira.

Had a great time up in the Derbyshire and Yorkshire dales, great roads for a car like this.
I’ve learnt that it really doesn’t like short journeys. I’ve had to purchase an OBD reader as was getting various engine lights.
Some were the 02 sensors, and another time one of the coolant sensors. Seems like if you do a 5 minute journey, and the sensors don’t get up to temp then they can cause issues. It’s my daily so sometimes I have short trips to do. Cleared the engine light and it hasn’t come back.
I guess I just need to leave a bit more time and drive longer to get everything up to temp. Not a bad problem to have.
Lotus have come back to me, the replacement doors have arrived to replace the bubbling paint issue.
I’m hoping the replace the whole door unit including wing mirror, as on one of those narrow twisty northern roads someone was too far over my side and smashed my wing mirror in.
Still super happy with it, still sounds amazing, still puts a massive smile on my face. I think they are great value for money second hand.
I was competing at hethel in a sprint over the weekend - was surprised to see a good few 23 plate cars gathering dust and bird poo just by the side of the track. All registered so assume they arent' experience day cars. Wonder why they're there?
There were also a good few cars there wrapped up in protective covers presumably ready for delivery.
I've seen a lot of the colours now as a result, and it's Seneca Blue for me just ahead of the yellow and the solid red, though these really are terrific looking cars no matter the colour. I remain tempted by one I must admit.

Someone allegedly flew a drone over Hethel recently and spotted numerous Emira's all wrapped up and just sat there. Supposedly around 300. I'm guessing anything going to the US will be kept back until things settle downThere were also a good few cars there wrapped up in protective covers presumably ready for delivery.

There were a lot of cars wrapped up just sitting there - I couldn't tell you how many, but I must have seen at least 100 I suppose. It was the cars that had reg plates and were sat covered in muck just sat there that surprised me, though. A mix of colours, wheel and interior options just sat there. You're not meant to take photos so I didn't.
I saw a few Emira mules there too as well as a handful of the EVs that are built in China.

Yes I expected some new cars to be at a car factory - I think that would be true of any factory.
Two year old, registered, and seemingly uncared for, cars, was what surprised me. A million quid's worth or more of cars just sat doing nothing (and not new by any means). Maybe they're demos or something that are cleaned when needed?
I also spotted a Lynk & Co SUV there - I assume they're Geely group too? Not sure I've seen a Lynk & Co car before now.

The Boxster 987 I had was sensitive to lambdas, I added small spacers that moved the lambda away a little and that seemed to cure it. Some Porsche parts companies even sell super tiny cats to go between to fool them.O2 sensor faults, possibly from a low battery or from a short distance drive that didn’t let them get up to required temperature.

How new is that? It says it’s a V6 First Edition and you can’t order one of those now. So it’s already built. Sitting round somewhere?
They will all be built in 2023 and sitting at hethal as mentioned above I expect.Actus Reus said:
