I don't blame you. People get carried away on CC. Brilliant platform for selling imo.

55 is 59 with fees added. Unless there was something very particular with with car, above that would be getting very toppy for a private sale.

Did you win it? It went for £54K. If so hearty congratulations, you got a bargain.

Pretty sure JKSC is a Dealer - Jon KirkhamSpecialist Cars. I wonder if Dealers get lower fee deals? Reserve was set at £53.5K. A friend of mine, took him all the way (buying blind) but bailed as it got too much when you add the fees. Nice car but there will be others

If anyone in the trade has bought that car for that price they need sacking.

Agreed, not a lot of profit in that.

No. I bid up to £55k including the hefty buyers premium fee. At that price it would be a bit below what you can haggle off cars advertised on auto trader. At the winning bid plus fees there's no advantage and you're buying unseen.

The market for these sorts of cars is only going to weaken over winter...

Sensible bidding, Honeywell. I really like Emiras and love a car auction but there is a lot of choice around the £60k mark and these cars are not selling quickly, like many similar - including my own car, if I needed to sell it now.

I think the weekend toy market will continue to be a buyers one for some time to come - good luck with the search!

Exactly! I have just been reading the Ferrari 296 values thread - now that is frightening depreciation!

I'll stick with my bargain basement weakened special for a while, I would bet there will be sub-£50k Emiras in 2025 and what a great buy that would be. I paid £32k for an Evora back in 2012 which I thought was a great price. To me, that was never a pretty car, but a great drive. I think the Emira is a stunner.

Just had a quick look, Yikes!

It's another world of depreciation there. i always assumed your money is pretty safe in a Ferrari but clearly not.

I think something like a 911 GT2 RS was one of those that listed about £180k, it went up to £280k and dropped back to £180k (can't remember the exact story I saw on here).

The 'tan' leather on the Emira is more like an orangy terracotta and is a bit clashy against both the Magma Red and Seneca blue tbh. Goes best with the Nimbus, DV and 'Dark Grey.'

On the Lotus configurator there were various colour combos which could be ordered new but were not recommended by Lotus .....from memory these two were not but as ever each to their own.
I'e just bought a red one with tan interior. I too thought it would be a bit too orange - but in real life it's not anything like as shouty as it looks in pictures.

The whole sports car market is suffering.

Right now you there is a 2017 Aston Martin DB11 on AT at £54,950.

Turns out my guess was correct. What’s the point for so little margin?

Still seems odd, I thought dealers liked a £5000 profit on cars at this point. Need to cover detailing, sorting problems, time stuck at the dealership as well as the chance it may get returned for work during any cover for problems.

Putting my Alpine into Motorway, it has come back with £37k. Dealers have similar age, mileage, options as mine sitting in showrooms at £43k plus.

That Lotus seems a big risk for little money, if any.

There's a lot of money in finance but yes, you're right.

That price looks optimistic right now as well.
