After ordering on my birthday 3rd July and 4 long months, today was the day I collected my S off the back of the ridiculous deals that we’re doing the rounds End of June/Beginning of July.
Absolutely blown away by it! Prep and handover of the car by JCT600 Lotus Bradford were second to none, worth making the journey to experience my first showroom handover.
Looks great that nice one!Absolutely blown away by it! Prep and handover of the car by JCT600 Lotus Bradford were second to none, worth making the journey to experience my first showroom handover.
I just had a call yesterday from Lotus Kent saying my car is sat with them ……so much for December delivery.
Anyway good news that the delays quoted a couple of months back hasn’t effected many cars.
Has anyone cancelled their order (post deposit)?
My order is delayed, and I'm getting cold feet as a couple of people I know have had their cars for a few weeks and had nothing but issues. The entire ordering process was fairly painful (through a Lotus AD in the end) as was the finance confirmation, so if I have the opportunity I think I'd rather jump out of this and take a new Macan EV instead. The Macan is more expensive, but having had various Porsche's I know what I'm getting and, most importantly, have a good local dealer that can fix it should the worst happen!

You will likely be able to track via the link below. If you’ve got your chassis then likely it’s close to shipping or already on its way.

Be sure to change the search option to chassis number.

Sorry to put a dampener on things here but took delivery of my R today and it hasn't even made it home, less than 2 miles, full engine shut down at 20 mph and car wont restart. Entire support from it happening has been nothing short of disappointing either.
Does anyone happen to have a good email address, I am not looking to vent and go all 'Karen' but at the price point of the car, you expect a reasonable level of service. The car remains unrecovered for the last 5 hours and the hazard warning lights reportedly work off the 12v battery which went dead after twenty mins of the hazards been on, meaning the car is not even accessible...
Lotus contacted AA, AA cannot recover it themselves, local recovery companies unwilling to touch it as too new a vehicle and don't want to risk causing further damage.
I noticed when I tried to secure the car that the towing eye was in the drivers door pocket, making me incredibly nervous that there is a known issue with this car before we took delivery. 48 miles too which I thought was slightly high for a new car off and on a transporter.
not a great start at all!! i know there is bigger following on the lotus facebook group- im sure someone there will have better information on where to go with thisDoes anyone happen to have a good email address, I am not looking to vent and go all 'Karen' but at the price point of the car, you expect a reasonable level of service. I'd take a cab back to the dealer, give the salesman the keys and tell him its not fit for purpose.Does anyone happen to have a good email address, I am not looking to vent and go all 'Karen' but at the price point of the car, you expect a reasonable level of service. How did you get on Scott? Any update on What happened with the car?
Dealership been good with updates, lotus know the issue is a failing module on the motors. They thought they had isolated cars affected and halted deliveries or recalled them. Failure rate I believe is 1 in every 3. Ours was not in that batch and therefore came as a surprise. Replacement motor which I suppose is like saying you need a new engine in a ICE vehicle. In a nearly matching courtesy car but time will tell how long to resolve.

Good to hear that they are working through it. What did they give you for a courtesy?
I am in a R, so the equivalent. From a business perspective, I cannot get my head round a failure rate of 1 in 3 and how giving cars away as courtesy cars can be feasible long term. Grateful to my dealer for it but it cannot be sustainable. S5Scot said:

i suppose with a big parent company like Geely and also all of the subsidies that the Chinese government gives its EV manufacturers, this might be a drop in the ocean for them. brand image and confidence though will definitely take a beating.got my S arriving at port on the 16th so i wonder what if i will get a hassle free car of or headaches at this point- a real "life is like a box of chocolates" moment!

I would say you don’t need to multiply 3 by much to get to number of cars sold. Which is perhaps another unsustainable business problem. It’s pretty incredible to give somebody a car where the engine/motor fails within like 30 mins, though.
Well mine got delivered about 2 weeks ago 600 miles later and "touchwood" its all ok, very tech heavy car but kinda knew that from reviews and my lack of test driving one.
The only issue I had on delivery was it had the incorrect alloys and incorrect coloured brake calipers.....not sorted yet but compensation/resolution etc work in progress
