There is no "wrong" at this level, only what you like yourself, but I personally wouldn't buy a 296 in that colour (and I am guessing that the person who did, wouldn't buy one in the colour of mine).

As to spec, it has a few nice options. You could be fussy and say a little more carbon would be nice, but an odd omission is the shields. I can't understand why they would be left out or some of the other options chosen instead, particularly in a car which is that colour, they would lift it a lot visually.

Also the choice of colour for the calipers is a bit drab with the grey, for the same price it could have yellow calipers which again would lift it visually.

There’s a new Spider at Meridian in the showroom for sale with a £395k list, what’s the price to deal on that I wonder…£300 - £320’ish?

Someone buying to get access to future specials? Though seems odd not to offload back through the dealer?

Probably think they'll get a better price from an auction. Dealers are likely bidding very low now (if at all), as these models are all sitting in showrooms and depreciating.

Silver calipers so much better than yellow or red to my eyes and same goes for no shields - if I ever spec a new car, that is the way I would go. I am not a fan of the Color though (at least not on my phone), would prefer a nice deep metallic shade. My car has red calipers and they annoy me - if I was less lazy, I would change them to silver.

Personally think its criminal not to have the shields, but as has already been alluded to everybody likes something different.

Rosso Corsa, Carbon Drivers Pack / wheel Wing Shields at the top of most peoples want list.

I think the painted shields look ok, but the normal ones look relatively crap on modern cars (esp on the V12 cars, a little less so on the mid-engined ones), don’t particularly like the carbon drivers pack either - so I am not the usual buyer.

I think the opposite, id not pay £10k for painted shields, they look like stickers and would be a logistical nightmare if the car got damaged.

The enamelled ones and recessed wings are a bit of jewellery the cars should have as standard.

I tend to think of them more as tattoos rather than jewellery. No place on non-racing or non-limited Ferraris IMO.

Somewhat ironic comment, given the enamelled badges on the wings of your alfa saloon in your profile picture.

The standard shields absolutely should not be a cost option. It should be no cost to have them or not !

I have not read all the posts so excuse me if this has been repeated. I am interested in a 296 GTB because they are now £200k with low interest rate of 5% so it makes them cheap supercars which I understand is relative. I had a test drive two years ago but all I remember was it was easy to drive very fast. Is there issues with reliability or the battery's etc? I know an approved car with have a two year warranty but what's the point if the car is off the road all the time.
