No comments on the coverage, yet?
I thought it was okay if a bit disjointed, and some poor camera positions/ angles......Holly McRae doing interviews at the event, but I guess commentator Dave Addison wasn't - and it was just a voice over in a studio.
I'm sure things will pick up as the season goes along.
I quite enjoyed the itv coverage. Watching that and a bit of YouTube action as well seems a good balance.I thought it was okay if a bit disjointed, and some poor camera positions/ angles......Holly McRae doing interviews at the event, but I guess commentator Dave Addison wasn't - and it was just a voice over in a studio.

Have a good one fellas!
I'll be spectating/photographing Otago this weekend, and watching ERC Hungary coverage at night... going to be a very rally-filled weekend!

- 301 Meeke Kris - O'Sullivan Noel jnr. - Ford Escort RS 1800 MKII.
Yip, Meeke joins a long list of rally royalty who have driven that particular Escort at Otago - Mikkola, Waldegaard, Jimmy McRae, Vatanen, Kankkunen, Mouton, Auriol, Martin, Ostberg and more...

Looking forward to seeing Meeke throwing it around, guaranteed to be rowdy! Always a fantastic rally.

The Otago strikes me as being one of the classics that I should go and see one day.
Do they ever take marshals from other countries?
I imagine they would quite happily, especially someone with experience!Do they ever take marshals from other countries?
Of course I'm biased being relatively local (nearest stage to me is about an hours drive from my house) but I really can't recommend it enough. If you ever do come over for it I'd be happy to give some local advice, and buy you a beer if our paths cross.

Great drive from Meeke, well deserved result and good to see how much he enjoyed it!
I'd credit 'drive of the rally' to Andrew Graves, 9th overall in an old Evo 3 despite running first on the road all weekend.
Otago runs an unusual road order compared to most rallies - classic 4wd class run first in seeding order, then the classic 2wd field in reverse seeding order, then NZRC and allcomers in seeding order. So the road was swept by 50-odd cars between Graves and everyone else in the top 10.

I might just take you up on that one day
I had a fun day spectating on Saturday - Sweet Lamb was cold, wet and windy in the morning, but it was great seeing the cars coming out of the clouds, down the hill, through the water and over the jump.

However, I much preferred the afternoon at Myherin, the weather probably played a big part of that, but also being in a forest.

It was also good to see the 911 and TR7 amongst the Escorts
