R4m are you looking to buy a 7 style car ??
I was, have now bought a Birkin. Currently 1600 Xflow, though a BEC conversion might happen in a year or two...

You’d probably like my caterham 7 then.

All carbon fibre and powered by a 1200 dry sumped blackbird motor running DTA management and Jenvey throttles with an all up weight of less than 400kg ready to run....magnesium axle nose, every single item weighed and optimised! (Except me which is definitely a problem!)

what kit is that julian and what kind of spec for the weight?

i've just seen a bmw k1600gt engine on ebay. 160bhp and 130lb/ft bone stock to pull a bike with a dry weight of 320kg makes it seem almost sensible, plus straight 6 soundtrack.

After 3 years of great motoring, I'm regretfully coming around to selling my well sorted, low mileage Caterham Seven fitted with an R1 170bhp engine. Priced at £15k ono. Is this the sort of thing which would be of interest?
Did you ever get round to putting it up for sale?
Yes, it got sold a month or two back through the Collecting Cars auction site. All very smooth and the new owner drove off into the sunset and back up to the midlands from Somerset.

All in all a very interesting experience, but I've now scratched that itch, will probably go back to a Duratec engine Seven again one day.

beer glad it went smoothly for you. Interested in peoples (experienced) opinion on duratecs - is it the reliability that is most desirable or is it a genuinely exciting engine?

Not sure I like the D in a 7, it lacks character and for me,is almost to torquey.....

I am about to remove the engine from my ZZR1200 if you are interested. It was recently dyno’d at 148hp. I have had it from almost new and it completely unmolested. I just want the rest of the bike for another project.
