Any interest in the Factory Five 818?

These look pretty cool and a bit unique in the market place.



I really like that they have a roof and doors. As it means you could keep it outside/use it all year round. Something so lacking in many other kits. Prices don't look horrendous either. Its mid engine and uses a Subaru engine, so even gets a decent soundtrack.


Anyone know much about them? There are quite a few US based vids. But I've not seen anything UK based.

Quite disappointingly I've heard not a peep from them

Maybe I asked the wrong questions. Such as is it available in RHD and which UK model Impreza's would you need as a donor. I also asked about what they are like getting through an IVA and if there are any others on the road in the UK.


Sadly used car prices in general kinda suck at the moment. And Impreza's do seem a tad pricey. I suspect much searching for a written off or crash damaged one would be the way to go.

I'd actually be ok with LHD, although RHD would be preferable. My worries would be are RHD donor vehicles suitable or will you run in to all sorts of issues?

Would be nice to know the build options too. The Tech-Autos website seems to contain very little info and lots of circular links that just bring you to the page you are already looking at.

Looks like it could be great value. Followed some of the development of this a few years ago but lost track.

Happy to share anything I can find out, still no reply. I'll give them a few more days and maybe try a chaser. But I'm guessing the may not be keen to sell any.

Sadly nobody else has replied here, which may also suggest there is currently no interest in these over here
