Pic 6. Infringement of copyright. That nose cowling is not similar, it's identical, to the cowling of the 1958 Ginetta G2 (see latest Jan 2002 issue of Classic & Sportscar, out now, pages 120 to 123 where there is a back to back test between a Lotus 6 and the Ginetta G2.
Car of the 21st century - what a joke! There is only one car of the 21st century and it's been out since 1998 - the Dare DZ. All others do is to try and update the bloody Seven, get a ton of publicity then disappear. (Just like this lot will). Give me the Walkletts any day. No hype just amazing cars.

This is my favourite of a pretty average bunch, I'm afraid to say. How do any of these really move the Lotus/Caterham 7 concept forwards? Slightly improved aerodynamics (not difficult!)and seemingly less practicality than a seven (no screens etc).
I think the way to move forwards is to make the car mid-engined. Take a look at the Lotus 18 (note some styling similarities to the seven)www.grandprixdriver.de/1960_Lotus%2018_The%20Basis_.htm
An updated (but still with retro charm)widened two seater Lotus 18 type car could be an interesting idea. Anyone agree?
