Any more info on this project Mike. I have always fancied the idea of ‘spider’ version of one of the early cars, with a wrap around Perspex screen

Nearly done. Got it back home. New ally dash fitted. Trimmed down to the carpets. Just waiting for a carpet set to be made.
Niggly things like window mechanisms are stiff so some fettling too do here and there.
Will post some pics soon.

Hello guys,
I’m newbie on PH and i would like to share with you two projects on going.
1st one is a Tuscan V8 1969 complete rebuilt. My father started restoration in 2011, most of the parts were present except the engine and gear box. That car is close to be completed now, just brake assistance to be improved even though full overhauled but the brake is not enough efficient frown .

Second one is our vixen S3 1971, badly damage on track in 2016. Repair was held pending Tuscan progress.
We start now, the frame already fully repaired, huge corrosion found also. Next step is to get a brand new bonnet and cosmetic repair on body shell. Interior furnishing also to be fully restore is planned

great to see another Tuscan V8, but is it not a Griffith 400? most Tuscan V8 uses the mk2 rear lights I thought.

Tuscans were originally SWB cars Before they became LWB Cars.

I mean more the Vixen type Tuscans V8 not the more M-series Tuscan V8 so they are difficult to recognise...I look at the pictures and my mind says, Griffith 400 :-) see bonnet and rear, but hey, its TVR hahah a bit likewise with the US griffith 400 and the UK Griffith 200 which look like the 400 biggrin

TVR built about 24 SWB Tuscans which were essentially the same as the US Griffith 400 and the UK Griffith 200. The main difference was a revised interior and dashboard. They even carried on the same chassis number sequence as the 10 off Martin Lilley built Griffiths.

For more info and pictures look at the revised pages on the Griffith and Tuscan on the TVR Car Club Website.

It would be nice to have more information and pictures on this Tuscan and Vixen.

Unfortunately it’s difficult for us to get the historical of the car. I can confirm that during the sanding of the bonnet I discovered that a splicing was done to add length. This bonnet was originally SWB and became LWB. Mark1 rear light were installed originally also (not modified by previous customer at least).

all informations you may have are welcome idea

After searching for similar Vixens or Tuscans like my friends orange Vixen S2 above which i used to own some 40 years ago i have stumbled across your marvellous posts..
There is a "you tube" ex cine film of TVR Vixen S2 WFD 400H on you tube that i placed some time ago..
Keith has actually has it running and driving around the block now..
