Thanks for the info everyone. I wonder if the car was ever yellow or if the traces of yellow in the spray booth shots are part of the prep for previous re paints. I believe it was Silver Fox originally but I have only seen photos in it's current silver/blue hue.

strange interior... but I kindah like it :-) that brown leather and the blue-ish carpets and that lovely wood dash and that steering wheel and those leather belt things for the bonnet, nostalgie, although not original, looks not bad, not a fan of those exhaust tips things thoug.

JFH3J chassis 1695-6 has had several changes, appearing in France as AT119NW and then it became DAO666K.
I don't know about the 2500 aspect.

Here's a couple of rear incarnations:

Interesting! I thought it was DAO 666K in the UK then went to France to become AT 119 NW.
It seems odd that the DVLA would have changed the UK reg from JFH 3J to DAO 666K making it appear newer. The chassis number you stated is also very different to what I understood it to be.

It’s a bit of a mystery I think. Certainly JFH3J was built with the chassis number DAO666K now has, put it that way!

Right, it seems to me that DAO666K was built as JHF3J and at some time bore the reg HMP895J which was in Ermine White.

It is now AT 119 NW in France in metallic light blue, with the V5 showing DAO666K

All the while being chassis 1695-6

...and from a 2003 thread:

DAO 666K
Chassis no unknown but believed to be the 99th Tuscan built out of 101.
Was blue / silver with glass HRW and Webasto roof.
Sold in 1973 to guy in Barrow who intended to hillclimb the poor old thing

...

Well if the French car is actually 1695-6 as the seller says, it certainly wasn't the second to last built - far from it.

Very strange.

Quite a conundrum!
A little off topic but do you know if the Tuscan V6s had a glass (non heated) rear screen as standard or an option?

I believe it was an option.

Chassis number 1695 is confirmed as being on the V5 and bulkhead plate. The plate is not an original.

It would be good if any previous owners could confirm it’s unusual ID history either as JHF3J, HMP895J or DAO666K

Does anyone know the whereabouts of HMP895J (formerly JFH3J) - it may have been rebuilt from a fire damaged car by a Jack Ogden around 2000-02.
?

I wonder if this will help jog some memories.

It was taken roughly between 1988 and 1994.

Many thanks to Jon for his permission to use the photo.

I've just had some further info. DAO 666K lived around the outskirts of Southport in the late '80s - early '90s. The photo was taken in the owner's home garage and not a commercial premises. Thanks again to Jon for the clarification.

Hi Rob,
COB was owned by two friends Wilfried and Christophe about 8 year ago they sold it.
I thought i had already given you Wilfried's email address. If not send me a private message and i'll give it to you.
I think the buyer was someone from belgium or in the east.

Thank you - I didn't realize it was COB -

I still need to track down the new owner.
