Hi All

Original colour is listed as "green". The current colour is similar to what I can only describe as Kawasaki green.

How can I find out the original colour from the factory. I presume Kawasaki green wouldn't have been an option!?!?!

Do TVRCC hold such records?

Cheers

Thanks Nige

I found that but unfortunately no reference to green. I wonder if the colour and the v5 details have been changed in its life time.
Is there any way of telling original colour from the chassis or reg number (if reg is original)?

The is currently colour, hand painted in some areas!!

This could be Ford Le Mans green, a period colour used on Mk1 Escorts. Some Vixens / Tuscans were painted this colour.

I agree with Jim, Le Mans green. I think it was only introduced quite late in the production run. AFAIK there is only one Tuscan in that colour.

It looks like? the "Green 45369" on the 1978 imported car colors map.

Thanks Everyone.

I like the sound of Le Mans Green.

Agree.

I've asked the TVRCC if they have any information on the car to try and find out if it was originally this colour. I'll let you know how I get on.

As regards the original colour of your car, TVR did keep Build records, and David Gerald TVR used to have them whilst at Inkberrow.

I think these may have been given to the TVR Car Club, but can't be sure.

I obtained the relevant page of these build records for my Tuscan V6 in 2010, while my car was being restored by David Gerald.

My car is Ford Le Mans green, but it was the colour chosen by myself when I ordered the car in August 1971, and it cost me £15 for a non-standard colour.

The other colour that is almost identical, that I have seen on a 1300 Vixen from Yorkshire, is Lotus Pistachio.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately TVR no longer have the build records for this era.

Suffice to say someone has them but it’s not known who - possibly a collector in Europe.
