I just picked up this 93 Chimaera, and I’m sorting through problems. Slow windows, hot start issue (cranks fine but no start), no instrument lights (found the switch…), horribly scratched up shift knob (put in on the lathe, looks like new now) and various other small things.
Getting tags today, how is everyone mounting a US plate?

I don`t bother with a front plate, even in the UK, plenty of cops noticed it but said nothing, aids cooling

No front plated needed in my state, I ended up painting a British plate flat black and mounting the US plate to that
I’ve been busy getting my new Chimaera to better than new. I found a nos steering wheel (94 Personel Monza) in Italy, new dash from the UK, updated buttons, LED bulbs, new speed sensor, all new ignition components, fuel filter, stepper motor and fixed a couple of vacuum leaks. Runs like a top now and I’m getting familiar with the old nag!

Mine has slow windows, I can live with that, been like it for the 8 years I have had it, worse in winter, better in summer, drivers side mostly. Getting at them is not fun & I had little luck improving the performance so...........
Looking for a wiper arm, nobody seems to be able to tell me what they are, Ford most likely ,shouldn`t be too hard to track down.

Mine had really slow windows and I put silicone lube on the tracks and it helped a lot. The door cards are easy to remove once you figure out where the bolts are and have long arms!
I purchased new wiper arms from Racing Green

Yes I just got some from Racetech, probably should have tried Racing Green, get a discount, my mate took the door card off mine, couldn`t get my hand in.

I bought my Chim from Fernhurst in October 21 and she is finally in my garage in Seattle WA. She was stuck at Tacoma port for two weeks waiting for customs clearance (turns out had a crap US brooker). Had her for about a week now and just going over her. The first job I had was to clear out about 2 inches of water from the drivers footwell. Someone at the port left the drivers window open (you can see this in the first pic). When I took this picture I had to contact the port and tell them about it. Of course, it was the weekend and they were closed and it was raining all weekend. Boy was I pissed off. Still, it's OK now and not any real damage.
Looking forward to better weather.

Here she is behind the cage at the port and in her new home.

Looks great, they probably couldn’t find the window switch to roll it up!

I have recently imported a 1993 Chimaera into the USA and love the car, every time I drive it puts a Huge Smile on my face. I'm in the Philly area of Pennsylvania, curious how many others have crossed the pond and where you are located.
I have a 97 lhd due to be loaded on a ship tomorrow!

Thanks. I plan on enjoying it, now that I have gotten it registered, and once I have it serviced. I assume 93 octane is enough, or should I get some octane booster?

Does anyone know what the part id is for brake calipers, and how to get new ones in the US?
