What's the deal with the SKY advertising, are they featuring it on the F1 coverage? (I haven't watched any F1 for several seasons)
Sky have been showing a lot of the GT World Challenge Europe on the F1 channel. Live races when there is no F1 and highlights when there is. They sponsor the Ferrari Tempesta team and Chris Buncombe raced with them last year but I don't know how direct the sponsorship is. I've always assumed Chris Froggatt brings the money as he is the constant in the team so it figures he's the one with the connection to Sky but maybe Buncombe has a bigger role than just quick driver.
Anyway here's our take on it with quotes and stuff.

As for the money side of things, they approached me and I am now am licking my wounds!!!

How come the series doesn't visit thruxton or castle coombe?
When was the last time any high profile race series raced at Castle Coombe? They also don't visit Croft or Knockhill.
Maybe they are happy with the circuits they do visit which have been the same for a number of years now, apart from Rockingham now it's closed. Guessing it's easier to do a deal with MSV circuits, as most on the calendar are.

The lack of garages at Castle Combe is probably a bit of a turn off, which is sad because it would make a great venue. Thruxton might be a similar story; the garages are tiny and probably not enough space for the full grid.
British GT used to visit Combe with the F3 series. However, a noise abatement order killed that off. There used to be some great British GT meetings at Thruxton back in the 1990s, perhaps my favourite ever events but the pit lane is too small I guess. The pit lane is way to tight at Thruxton, this is what happened the last time British GT visited.

Absolutely supurb! This is why GT raceing is so much more exciting than modeernd day F1 racing (I am not knocking F1 in the slightest).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xjtvEnyHl0&ab...

IF I’m not already racing and IF C19 has taken a beating, Spa looks like a nice option for a long weekend
Morning mateSpa is always good, but you will be busy racing!
Just so everyone is aware, Steve is my partner in Intelligent Money Racing.
We are shortly going to start a thread on the conversion of a road Porsche Cayman into a full racing car!
You couldn’t keep it quiet could you .
The build is already underway and I’m hoping we’ll be out testing before the end of the year (so that will probably mean about a week before the first race in April ).
This is going to be club racing not GTs so while the car should hopefully be suitably PHworthy it’s going to be home spannered and run on a budget that would just about cover Jensen’s tyre bill for a weekend .
Can’t wait for next season .

Excellent news !!!
and in with the obvious - need pix!!! of the car goddamnit man, of the car only!!!!!!!
They would probably be up already but I don’t think Julian has any yet .
We will have pics to show but following the philosophy of Garp (for those that don’t know... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPqP8lQhLso) we wanted a car that had been pre-disastered so it landed with us already slightly bent and for now it looks mostly like this -
But the most important thing is that we have settled on a team policy -
More to follow when we set up a thread for the build as it would quickly become spam on here
