But the most important thing is that we have settled on a team policy -

T-shirt! T-shirt! T-shirt!
You know now you have said that, I probably will! smile

They would probably be up already but I don’t think Julian has any yet laugh.

We will have pics to show but following the philosophy of Garp (for those that don’t know... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPqP8lQhLso) we wanted a car that had been pre-disatered so it landed with us already slightly bent and for now it looks mostly like this -

So Julian, planning on adding T-Cut to the IM PHE fund any time soon??? hehe

starting with a good colour though thumbup - cobalt blue i may be biased

Pretty much yes.

The car is away at the moment having the cage installed as my fabrication skills don’t stretch quite that far but most of the rest is DIY. It’s being done by the workshop that was our closest competitor in 2018 when we won the 750 Enduro Championship and they keep joking about lead lined T45 tubes. Or at least, I hope they’re joking yikes .

I’m fortunate in that I have a reasonable workshop to play in so I can tackle most of the prep. I should also say that a mate has also been helping, he’s a fellow racer and very handy with a spanner so I’m hoping he’ll be persuadable towards helping out at the race days next year as well.

IF I’m not already racing and IF C19 has taken a beating, Spa looks like a nice option for a long weekend scratchchin
If anyone fancies a proper road trip the WEC is at Monza the week before on the 18th.

A few years back I did it the other way, home to Spa then a run south to Imola for what was the Intercontinental Le Mans Series.

Fantastic! Can't wait to see the thread for the project. Those tubes won't be tubes, they'll be solid bars laugh

I was supposed to be going to spa with IM this year.... definitely interested in the double header idea next year. I do euro trips most years, been to Monza for WSB, great place and atmosphere. Feel free to PM me, I take radios and everything lol.

I'm just pointing out the dates, no real plans to do it although I'll be at Spa regardless. It's more likely that I'll hang about for the 24 hours a week later.

That's a huge scope for BGT and brilliant to see for the profile of the championship.

Also great to see some GTC entries for Silverstone too.

Is your deal a multi year deal and assuming you will be back in 2021?

Hi Tim

Thanks! Yes, I announced in my interview at Donington Park that I had extended it for a further 5 years.

I also said there that my intention was to grow the profile of the championship. Teaming with SKY to bring Jenson and Chris over to race in it was a big part of that (and of course McLaren played there part!).

Now I have to try and coax them to come back for a race next year too...

That's great to hear and I'd obviously missed that. Continuity is important on both sides and starts to help with creating awareness.

When I raced in it (a long time ago now!) it was Privilege as title sponsor they never really leveraged and activated it, something which can be so much better targeted these days too with social and better customer data.

I was coaching with a couple of the guys racing more recently (but I've stopped that so I can go back to being a Bronze thanks for the wonders of the FIA system after a break from competing). I'll have to make it back to a round or two next year to see what it's all about these days and who knows perhaps I'll make the longest return between BGT appearances in history 😂
