Not many sponsors on Goff's car, wonder if Tony Gilham is doing the same Jeff Smith did last season and part funding his drive out of his own pocket and hoping to get the results that bring in sponsors?

I don't understand why he struggles for sponsorship so much, he's consistently good in the right car and consistently bad at bringing the money in.

Not everyone is a good salesman and/or has the family contacts. Being a good driver is not enough at pretty much any level above club racing.

The amount of work these guys have to put in to keep up with the sponsors is enormous. Whenever I spend the day in the pits with mates at that level it exhausts me watching them and their family keeping up with everything.

Unless you're constantly at the front I don't think results necessarily attract sponsors. It's more of a symbiotic relationship these days with sponsors getting value out of the other sponsors and the networking opportunities a race meeting brings.
