Long time motorsports fan but this will be my first year with indycar.

Will watch a few youtube guides before this weekend to attempt to understand the finer points.
It's easy....there aren't any!

Haha
Last time i watched it they were still using a hear lever to change gears, guessing its now semi auto gearboxes.

Looking forward to it.

Hear Lever?

That sounds very advanced. Voice activation is the way forward. "Car, 3rd gear please".

Such a shame Wickens isn't back driving yet.

Will be interesting to see how much of the race is on Youtube considering the fact Sky have their teeth into it now.

Fingers crossed - though I suspect it will be several days before the full race is uploaded if last year's coverage is any guide

New to Indy cars but I enjoyed watching qualifying the commentators made it easy to workout what was going on. The cars look good I like the no tyre warmers rule so the driver has to do the warm up.

Its interesting to hear a different take on the same event.

I’m new also, well back after about 20 years minus Alonso at Indy, and I struggled a bit initially with how the format was being run. About 2/3rds way through they put how it works on the left hand side of the screen but before then I was clueless.

They said it was quite unusual that first period but it didn’t half seem amateurish both with the drivers and the officials, but the drivers and teams seem more willing to accept things than in F1!

Looking forward to the race later.

Well...that's rubbish! On BT we got the whole race. When the yanks showed the ads we still got the action. NOBODY WANTS ADS DURING THE RACE!!!!

The adds don't bother me, I'm enjoying the racing I know they're not faster but they look faster (maybe it's the camera angles) than their F1 brethren.

Left the room, just walked back in to a Scottish voice but didn't see the picture as it went black, were they broadcasting a Moto3 interview with John McPhee by mistake?
