Bit of a stupid move to go for a cycle when most of England woke up to sub zero temps.

turbo trainer would of been safer.
Mountain biking in the woods. I doubt the temperature had anything to do with it.

Really ?

I live on the quantocks and wet tree roots are bad enough , icy tree roots and puddles of freezing mud and water make it much harder .

Your not due to race a car in 3 months .

I haven't gone skiing since I started racing at a national level for this exact reason

I also heard that Steve Neal is currently running around the woods yelling at trees demanding one be handed a penalty hehewink

Steve Neal and running are two words I never thought I’d see in the same sentence laugh

I never have had a clause like that but it’d be pretty upsetting all round if I broke myself and had to sit some rounds out!

ETA - Most team bosses I’ve worked with would probably suggest it’d be more sensible to have a clause in my contract requiring physical exercise rather than avoiding it hehe

Plenty of other people were out on mountain bikes yesterday, some crashed most didn't... it being cold doesn't really change that off road.

I've cracked a rib testing a Rotax to stay sharp.

Race 1 for me Snetterton end of March and testing in Feb will interesting/painful.

Hope Matt recovers ok, and the team get a suitable sub.

Not the first time Matt’s hurt himself in his non race car pursuits. I recall him hurting his hand not so long ago doing martial arts.

I enjoy that he gets up to other things away from his car, for some reason I fee it makes me relate to him more as a human than just a racing driver.

Wishing him a speedy recovery smile

I'm sure he managed to break his hand or something similar 2 years in a row during the off season.

Motorbase are shaping up to have a good team. Any idea if they are running an evolution of last years car or the current Focus bodyshape ?
