Top 10 shootout from the Leadfoot Festival hillclimb (Rod Millen's driveway) earlier this year, something to break up the covid-19 monotony...

I am hopeful it will go, but my concerns are will you get enough medics, rescue and recovery crews. I can see a few rescue and recovery units going bust with the lack of events. The medics who have been working their butts off will need some down time, and the call for their services will be at a premium as everybody (not just motorsport) will be wanting them. The same applies to rescue and recovery units really.

Marshals as well may be an issue, it is an expensive event for everyone and if money is tight a lot of people may not be able to afford to do Mull.

Having said all that I do really want to see the event go.

Alfa Romeo championship is going to continue its consecutive 39th years, very pleasant and exciting moments for drivers and spectators. This Alfa Romeo motorsport will be on all the major UK circuits from April to November 2020.

April, really?

And isn’t this the rally thread? If there is an Alfa Rally championship in the UK I’d be delighted to hear about it.

11 times National Tarmac Champion John Price sadly passed away Tuesday after a long illness . Renault Alpine , Porsche 911 , Renault 5 Turbo and Maxi , GrpA BMW M3 , and those mighty Metros , Some character was JP who really did love his chosen sport , I was at a presentation for his 600th rally (Wexford) early 90s , wonder what his final tally was ? RIP JP

I wonder who has done the most events in their life time?
I know Peter Scott quite well, he’s done well over a thousand now, from winning the circuit of Ireland to local club scatters.

Still a pain in the arse mind..... biggrin

Well from reading the guidance the only rallies I can see happening this year are circuit based ones.

What about single venue/forest Rallysprints?

The problem I see is if you have any incident is all the cleaning etc that be required etc.

I agree. I can't see anything happening which can't be managed within a single venue. The intervention systems will require that.

From the information I have seen the biggest issue with any form of rallying is the fact it will be impossible to social distance in a car.
They appear to be saying until the social distancing rule is relaxed there will be no rallying.

As I see that means the UK alert system needs to be down at 2.

There are a lot of people in the rallying community who have written it off for 2020. Some say even longer.

It’s not good.

Yep just a few rallysprints if anyone can be bothered to go through all the hoops.

To be honest, I can't see many clubs bothering changing their events to a rally time trial/ rallysprint.
And, at the moment, the current guidelines mean no British WRC round - though there are 5 months until it runs; and things will/can surely change.

I read something yesterday about Latvala having tax issues and having some of his personal collection seized?

Can’t find it now!

Worrying for the rest of the season; it seems as if 'non spectator' WRC events are not viable unlike F1, as that is were the revenue comes from.
