Organising a rally is a phenomenal amount of work, unpaid for most. I wonder if organisers (I've been part of it) have ever illustrated the actual costs to competitors should everyone involved be paid.

There's a handful of brilliant competitors who do give back time when not competing BUT the majority of them will have no idea, moan about the entry costs, do the event and bugger off home. I've found that very demoralising over the years.

Totally agree, the pandemic has made me rethink my involvement with motorsport. Whilst at present I will continue to be involved, I will certainly be doing less.

In part it is due to the lack of understanding by so many competitors of what is actually involved in running events, the training that goes on etc.

Suninen off on stage 1 again! Bad stage for m-sport, with fourmaux also off, in his Wrc 2 car.

Greensmith out for the day with transmission failure, after launching into the last stage. Shocker for the team!

Quality day for Ogier, wonder how much time he can take back from the lead Hyundai's tomorrow?

Ogier did very well considering he was running so early. Evans said he was surprised at how loose the surface was, and seemed to have less confidence in my view, but they both ran the same tyre setup. However Evans still in with a podium chance.
Greensmith seems to have got on the pace to be not far off the leaders in the last 2 events.

Lovely stages. This used to be a round of the European Championship back in the 80s when Lancia 037s and the occasional S4 could be entered.

It's a stunning place, I always recommend it as a great rally/holiday.

Tanak is out after clouting a rock!! And just as wfc+ is down, due to a power cut!

Think someone needs to tell Ott, it’s ok being fast but that to finish first, first you need to finish; implied it wasn’t his fault last time out but similar again?

Quite a day. Even the Day 2 re starters now in with a podium chance! Those Hyundai seem to have fragile suspension arms.

Have to say, I'm finding this the least interesting motorsport event of the weekend....looks like a Toyota 1-2-4 with Hyundai self destructing, yet again - and M-Sport just not up to the challenge.

That Fiesta is fine, Ogier proved that, when you take a pay driver and a guy who is trying to impress every time, and seem to crash first stage every time this is what you deserve, better to pick one car, push for a top driver and do it that way. They are struggling money wise and it shows.

Done my annual CFR assessment this morning. Just happened to do it in the meeting room at M-Sport's HQ here in Cumbria.

Nicky Grist stages confirmed to go ahead, but with no spectators due to the "MOD being on exercise". Which is strange because I've often seen them while out on the Tour of Epynt.

Yes, there has been multiple occasions when they've been out on exercises, the same time as rallies.......

However, I think that Covid-19 has made it easier to not allow spectators. And, one gets the feeling, that Wales is just about happy to allow sporting events to take place - but not spectators to come and watch. I really do wonder whether I'll get to any forest events this year.....

Red Bull Hardline in Dyfi is going ahead - but, no spectators allowed - will be streamed live.

Unfortunately the Harry Flatters has been cancelled.

Is anyone out working on the Argyll later this month?

Good morning for Neuville but not so for Evans; looked so promising for Toyota yesterday, filling top 3 positions

Yes unlucky rock for Evans. Neuville had a lucky overshoot and still made fastest time. Interesting to hear Adamo saying that the strengthening allowances on the cars for this event are far less than used to be permitted, visually no outside protection like the animal bars and outside cages which went years ago, but less allowed on critical areas like the suspension and steering.
