Don't think a race can be much closer to being stopped as it was just now, they were aquaplaning everywhere! Incredible driving skills to prevent any further crashes.

Huge accident for one of the Caymans, fingers crossed driver is ok

Edit: Ticker says driver is responsive and complaining of back pain, hardly surprising : https://streamable.com/445iiw
Tom Coronel binned his Cayman:

You could see him with his phone alongside the car, seemingly taking selfies - he put the rescue on Social media hehe

end of his accident, notice the 2nd place car passing at full chat, good job it didn't spin back on track!

Dacia Logan still pounding round in 108th place, a 12.31 fastest lap not bad considering, and not last.

Good race this so far. I can see it getting red flagged soon for the fog on the lower part of the circuit.

I wonder how many Cayman GT4s will finish...... can't be many left.

He's always seemed quite accident prone to me. Looked nasty that.

Red flag; fog at certain parts of the track - and now with fading light, it was inevitable, really. Safety is paramount, especially at the Nordschleife.....

So the Hyundai i20 N is a road car? I haven't seen it in the coverage but it must still be stripped out and rollcaged?

It's the right decision; with the fog set in for the night, it's unlikely to lift before daylight. As said earlier on the commentary, it's becoming a regular occurrence; 2013, 2016, 2018, 2020 & now 2021.

Local time, so earliest possible restart is 6am UK time.

With the sun gone and no wind, that dog isn't going to clear overnight, it'll just hang in the trees.

For your entertainment then, onboard with Kevin Estre in the #911, if you scroll to about -6:54:00 you can watch his opening laps which take him from P11 starting place to P2 in under 2.5 laps. I'm in awe of these guys, slicks, lots of cars, rain, wheelspin, sliding https://youtu.be/BRYmUk8b0MU

Some short updates from a few of the drivers starting here with Adam Christo in the currently leading Mercedes. He's not very happy with the red flag.

Current plan is to start at 11am local, but I can't see it happening, the fog is as bad as when they red flagged yesterday.

Edit: Fromation lap pushed to 11:20 local.

Seems a bit pointless to me, race will only be about 10 hours then, you might aswell just call it a sprint race lol! Nothing you can do about it, but a dammed shame after all the effort, but it seems recurring theme, about time they moved the date I think

I'm happy it looks like it's finally starting again, but all the shots look _really_ foggy still. I'm not entirely connived we'll get to the finish without another red flag...

Now is the time having bright coloured car really pays off.

I hope that car #118 does well, this youtuber/Nürburgring taxi driver is driving a Dacia (the slowest car in the race) in the race, they were 10 laps down and in 105th place.
