AS I mentioned previously, my Nephew is on another BTCC forum, & the Fiesta Cup has been mooted about.
So... maybe there is some truth in the rumours.
One would expect TOCA would like it to be manufacturer backed, and if so it’d be the latest model presumably. Which I don’t believe has been raced yet in the Fiesta champs

2023: Only one slot to be filled by guest series then...

(Praying for some historic series to be included... with lots of variation).

I'd rather good historic stuff stayed where it belonged , with clubs who have flown the historic flag for years , such as HSCC and CSCC . Giving some of the BTCC audience good historic racing would be like giving a pig a strawberry ...
I tend to agree but it might show them that good racing with good driving standards is possible.andy97 said:

A brand new junior series. Could be anything.

I reckon they could work with Radical to produce a 100bhp car with minimal aero. But that wouldn’t allow the bumper car style racing they like on the BTCC.

Tingram to finally clinch the title...but also more than happy if Jake succeeds.
Either way... a new name on the trophy.
NB: Cheerio to JP & Ginetta, you will be missed..
&
(The Juniors will be the biggest loss to the TOCA package).

Well done to Ingram. Well deserved.
Agree, & its been a long time coming... I was beginning to wonder if he was ever going to win it.Jake’s impatience surfaced again... threw away the runner up spot.
Some great drivers for 2023.
Hope Rory, Dan Cammish & ‘Cookie’ can find some consistency & be in the mix.
Still not sure about the Hybrid yet... but if it produces another close
season I will learn to accept it.

Watching touring cars at knockhill in the mid 90s, they always had historic touring cars on the schedule. Hybrid didn’t work this year IMO. I doubt it will happen as they have invested a lot in it, but I’d prefer they just admit defeat and drop it for next year.
Well done to Ingram.
Hopefully Hill will get there, he needs to be a little less aggressive. I wonder if Turkington not behind overly supportive in the last race was a sign of how others felt about Hill’s attitude.
Feel sorry for Sutton, he just didn’t have the car this year.

There was a Scottish classics race as part of the touring car weekend at Knockhill only a few years back. The field was much larger than normal historic races. I assume the attraction on TV or being part of the BTCC weekend made it a big attraction. Rather than having the same support races following the BTCC calender maybe have different local race series as part of the day?

Yep, that’s what I think. At least give it a try for 2023 while they work on how to replace the junior program. Rather than having the same support races following the BTCC calender maybe have different local race series as part of the day?

I did wonder that. He was perfectly placed to ease off the power and let Jake, and probably a couple more, sail by with Tom sat right behind him. Having said that, it probably goes against Colin racing ethos.Feel sorry for Sutton, he just didn’t have the car this year.
I think Sutton had a good year considering. He certainly demonstrated again how he can drag a car around.
I’ve always liked how Tom races and he comes across really well when interviewed.
I look forward to next year already.
Jake had his win taken off him in the first race at Donington due to a ride height failure... which really scuppered his day.
He also received a demotion later on in the season.
Those lost points might have come in handy.
( But definitely a title contender for 2023).
NB: Cree’s local rag said that he was winded & received a stiff neck... he commented that the driving standards needed looking at.

I thought Sutton had a belter of a year and imo at least probably the best BTCC driver at the moment.Well done to Ingram.

I think the Sunday is too long with all the races.
