Been following BTCC on-and-off for years. Shame about the limited entry this year, but that'll hopefully improve. Full marks to Matt Neal and Team Dynamics for getting the championship this year - they had the right car at least!!!

As for vs F1 and learning things - different cars, different requirements - a lot of tin-top drivers have done single-seat (just look at DTM!), and they're very different, esp. the non-silhouette championships like BTCC/WTCC, where the cars aren't perfectly set-up for weight, balance, etc because they're a prod'n car underneath (DTM is silhouette, so different). And personally I think the ability to "rub panels" makes for more competition and action as the drivers know an impact won't necessarily take them out (almost all do in open-wheel), but there's still a risk.

My favourite televised motorsport (no real order):-
WRC (well, rallying in general)
BTCC
JGTC (except for commentary, which is crap)
DTM
British GT
FIA GT
Clio Cup - absolute hoot!!!

F1 is WAY down the list.

I like the way the ferraris are in the same class as MR2's in JGTC... Seems to be one of the best racing series, and so many cars and drivers, driving massivly tuned cars is fantastic to watch!

Use the MR2 Turbo engine in them... Still going strong!
