cambriddge to oxford - best route

Got to be in Oxford by 12 noon tomorrow - which is the best (easiest/least hassle) route from Cambridge?
I'm going in the tiv so ideally I'd like a nice windy great A road with no traffic or scameras!
Google maps suggest M11, M25, M40, A40, seems ideal but what will the traffic be like that time of day.
A colleague recommends M11, A14 towards Northampton, A45 then A43, M40, A34 seems an awfully long way round.
