Hi guys, for those of you that know me then you'll know i change my cars more than my pants. However i have decided to embark on restoration that should take a few years of my life. I present to you my rusted out stbox of a Ferrari 250 GTE. Enjoy

I received a call from Ferrari in modena saying that they've got the perfect car for my planned restoration so they sent me these pictures first, don't even ask how i managed to get speaking to Ferrari in the 1st place.

After i got excited like a little school boy i rang them back, and speaking broken Italian i managed to haggled a good price, thanks Donatto.

They shipped it to Essex for me and then i had it shipped up north

It was then time to move it my friends place who restores some lovely cars, Escort Mexicos, 6R4s, MK1 Golfs, etc, etc

I have recently purchased the doors, bonnet and boot from various people like GTO engineering,
The chassis is being done and the next thing is to have the body soda blasted.

Stay tuned for more coming over the next few months.

Cheers

Pete

I can only go as fast as the parts become available unfortunately, i'm in a bidding war with some people of the engine (4ltr) and the gearbox, it's heading north towards the £70k mark. Haha and the lady thinks she's getting married, paff. smile

Cheers Playo, it's gonna be a long timely thread though haha. I was thinking about putting some of my previous cars on here but didn't want to look like a poser.

How original is it going to be?

Will you be sourcing ferrari parts (oem or otherwise) or will you be modernising slightly underneath? (modern brakes etc)

Other than the shell, how much ferrari will you have at the end?

don't worry, I'm not a ferrari fan boy that's going to bash you if you use the wrong colour piping on the leather, just curious

Looks like an interesting project, do you have a chassis to go with the empty bodyshell?

In which case you need your head examining, you can source a rough, but complete and running 250GTE/330 America for less.

Beautiful cars these, good choice. Was it RHD or LHD originally? Will you be converting to RHD if it was left hand before?
