[quote=df76]So a fairly terrifying journey over to wales for a rolling road session yesterday, the snow was just a bit unnecessary. Can’t remember that last time I was so uncomfortable driving on a motorway, not pleasant.

Results of the mapping session was just about what I expected, with a peak power of 244bhp. My exhaust manifold with sports cat set up costing me a fair bit. Something to deal with in the distant future perhaps, but still a good gain from where I was. Will be interesting to see how it feels at an event.

Very nice results there and 244BHP is a great outcome .

It is amazing what gains breathing upgrades make on the K20 engine .

What do you think the sports cat is costing in BHP terms ?

You have made my mind up and i will be putting a set of DC cams on the shopping list smile

Interesting, Jesse (J.Cal) mentioned that he would recommend the DC cams. Also suggested that the engine would be north of 250 with a better exhaust manifold on it, perhaps with a cat further down the exhaust system. Car will definitely be quicker than me, so plenty to learn.

You NA boys, chasing 8-10bhp hehe

Jcal knows his stuff, I would think that a Solid Fab manifold would free it up a abit, £1200 for one with a Cat though, that's what's been putting me off!!

DC cams seem to be a good choice. thumbup

A day at a Castle Combe track day has spurred me into some maintenance action. Really nice Civic next to us had its day cut short early by a very nasty sounding idler pulley. Given that I've never changed my aux belt, it's time to get a new belt on the car. Also some noise from the pulley bearing, so that'll be changed.

The tensioner pulley was silent, so I'm not touching that.

The new idler pulley and belt look better at least. Managed not to over tighten the mounting bolt, which seems to the only real challenge.

And a small safety upgrade, just to cover me when out on the road. Fire safety sticks seem to get good reviews.

A very average start to the season, but good fun at the recent National event held at Gurston. Luckily escaped before the worst of the weather hit, and drove like a fool before that.

(Do like the wheels)

At the moment it’s no quicker than previous seasons, but I suspect that might be user error and I seem to be spending plenty of time missing gears. Need to improve, and perhaps change some bushes to make myself feel better.

Good catch at 0.25 seconds in to the vid and even enough time for a quick hand gesture smile

Changed the shifter bushes over tonight, what a pain in the arse that job is! Gear change does now feel different, and in a good way.

Only slight issue is one of the old bushes flew when it popped out, I can’t find it. Definitely not in the throttle body though. The other one is looking knackered.

What did you change them for new OEM units or solid units like Hybrid Racing .

I put the tegiwa ones in. A real fiddle when you’re mixing copper grease and some spring fastener… and me.

Making the most of appalling British summer weather and not competing this weekend, and hoping to solve the slight oil leak from the cam cover. Unfortunately the k20 weak spot is to the rear, which means oil weeps straight onto the exhaust manifold, which isn’t ideal. Hopefully some limited use of Honda bond in the appropriate spots will help.

It was very minor, but bloody annoying and the burning smell wasn’t great. Hopefully that new gasket and a bit of bond in the right places does the job.

Did you use an OEM gasket? Seemed to make a massive difference to mine!

First time ever at Prescott this weekend, what a venue. And a great event. Loved it and civic went well there.
