Has anyone recently bought from Chrono24, from a seller in the EU? Did you pay VAT / Customs?

I've seen a watch I like but want to see if I will get battered on import etc.

If it doesnt state anything about VAT when checking out then right now you have to pay the VAT (plus a small handling fee) when it hits customs.

Thanks. Will there be any other import charges, or just vat and handling fee? Bit annoying that vat gets charged on second hand items.

I bought an Omega beginning of Jan.

Delivered from Amsterdam via FedEx. No vat payable.

That's gonna make it quite expensive then.

I have just enquired about a watch in Germany, they will take off the vat they pay in Germany but you need to pay duty into the uk. They said about 1-5 percent.
