Rear traction has dropped off a cliff. New set of rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres ordered. £580 at my local Kwik Fit with a Black Friday discount code.
Pads and discs next week. £985 in parts ordered from Mercedes
Service and MOT the week after.
Then hopefully no more car related expenses for a while...

And sailed through its B3 service and MOT at my local Mercedes dealership today although a little annoyed with the advisory for having a child seat fitted
. Grand total of £0.00. Thank you service plan.
Even received a health check video showing no issues and all the new parts I've had fitted recently. Not much use to me but if I do sell it, some reassurance to a potential buyer.

Ordinarily I’m a BMW man, but these represent such great value-for-money right now I am considering one over an F10 M5 Competition Pack, because I can get one of these a bit newer and lower mileage than the M5 and for about 5k cheaper!
I viewed a 2018 C63 saloon (pre-OPF) on the weekend with only 20k miles on it, and if it wasn’t for the car being in white and not having the sports exhaust button I would’ve signed the paperwork there and then!
I thought the comfort seats were a bit firmer than I thought they’d be though. And I wasn’t that keen on the infotainment system and the gear-lever that’s positioned like an indicator stalk… but I could get used to both of them. At least you can set the car up in ‘Individual’ mode how you like (engine in sport+, suspension in comfort) which is great!
It still sounded immense without the sports exhaust button to be fair. Very tempted... A lot of car for the money

I’ll vouch for the W205. I went from my C63 into a new ish RS4 which was about double the value and half the fun. Now in an F80 M3 but would happily have one of these again. The infotainment was the biggest letdown, but the dynamics, sound and mechanical build quality were all excellent.

Interesting, thanks! How does your F80 M3 compare to the W205 C63 you had?Mark83 said:
I think I'm the same re. SUVs. If I could have a second fun car, I'd be more swayed but this needs to be a do it all car hence swaying heavily towards the M5. I like the idea of finishing work early and squeezing in a track evening every now and again. I can do that in the M5, not in the X3M.
I do still have a saved search for San Marino Blue F80 M3s...

Apologies for potential thread hijacking…
Quite a few people commenting here seem to have experience of both M3/4 and C63. Which would you recommend as a daily driver, with the occasional spirited drive (not track days) thrown in? I’m looking at convertible versions of both, so they’d never be the last word in driving dynamics anyway…

I owned an M4 Competition before this and that was better dynamically with a keener front end to turn in. I've always said the AMGs are great up to 8/10ths and nearer the limit is where the M cars excel. I don't track this, and likely never will, but for the road, it's great but that's mainly down to the engine and theatre that comes with it. Obviously it will ultimately likely come down to test drives, but it sounds like a C63 will be a much better daily than an M4. Cheaper (for me) to run as well.
Decisions decisions…
