If you advertise this on alfaowner I dare say there would be some interest.

I'm in no rush at the moment but good call, maybe next month when work calms down a bit i'll take some decent photo's and put it up for sale, was planning to tidy up the engine bay with some new pipes and some powdercoat as it looks a bit crap.

what kind of figure would you be looking for in order for someone to take her off your hands....?

The turbo V6 was built to get around IT tax laws that peanilised the 3.0 V6 massively btw.. there are quiet a few alfa cars with this engine in over there

If i'm honest i've no idea, i've only just decided to sell, mainly because i've got too many cars hanging around again and i need to get rid of some.

It's a tough one, i guess listen to offers or ebay with a reserve and see what happens.

Faster than the 12v 3.0 V6 which I'm not sure we ever got in the UK, but slower than the 24v 3.0 V6 which was the main UK model.
The first GTV V6 had the 12V 3.0 engine. This was replaced by the 24V 3.2. The Arese V6 was never available as a 24V 3.0.

Of course, the best version of this engine is the original 12V 2.5, which I have in my car...cool

I'm certain you're wrong - I owned one for about three years. smile

First 916 GTV V6 3.0 were 12v, very few imported to UK
Then it went to 3.0 24v, the most common in the UK
Then it went to 3.2 24v, for the big-nose phase 3 cars.

Unless there's a subtlety I'm missing, these were all evolutions of the Arese, or Busso, V6.

Agreed, the same one as I had in mine, and overall the favourite of the 3 Arese V6s I've owned.

I don't think so, but the Cup kit is available. There's a few sellers who advertise their GTVs as Cups when they are not.

We got the red 3.0 V6 Cup in the UK, in mainland Europe the Cups were silver 2.0 Turbo V6s, I think.

285 torques?! Are you sure old bean?

Woeful engine pics btw. A bit of metal polish and half an hour of effort would sort it out a treat.

That's what is quoted as standard for this engine from the factory, I think.

Do you think it should have more or less?

The chrome pipes have surface rust and the covers are oxidised so no amount of cleaning is going to change that, if i had the time to do it i'd replace the pipes with new ones and powdercoat the covers.

Ah I didn't realise the huge difference between Nm and lb/ft. That's 210lb/ft in real money, which sounds ok. As you were wink

Sorry, I missed a wink

But would mean I'd need to sell my 147.
