Hello,

Just a quick update.

All the wiring and Motec install is now complete. DC Electronics have done a great job of designing and installing a Raychem wiring loom and programming the Motec stuff. Simon also suggested that we might as well run sequential ignition with the Motec M800 so he has also modified my engine loom to run this.

The car is now at Radtec in Stafford. They are designing a new chargecooler for the car. When they have finished we just need an exhaust making, then it's time for an MOT.

Thanks for looking,

David.

That sounds like a fearsome specification, are you planning on hitting the gravel with it?

No gravel, only for the streets around the Nürburgring... ;-)

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Thought I would do a quick update on the Lancia project. We have all been busy with other things so the car is still not finshed.....but we are nearly there.

Chargecoolers and new exhaust are now fitted. The exhaust is Group A style with the tailpipe exiting under the offside bumper. Alunox also made a rear silencer which can be used for road and track day use.

Engine is in the car now and running. We had problems getting the engine to start with the sequential ignition with coil on plug setup. After lots of head scratching and checking of wiring looms and PDM prgrammes, Nick decided that the spark plugs was to blame. ( Something to do witn the wrong resistance) New lower resistance plugs fitted and she started straight away, what a relief!

Here's a pic of the unfinsished engine bay. Lot's of work to do but it's getting there.

The gearbox fitted to the car is the OE Lancia box which has had the usual mods to strengthen it. To be honest it won't last long without reducing the boost in the first few gears. This spoils the fun slightly. With this in mind I have been looking at other options and have decided on a 5/6 speed sequential box which will be rated at 700 ft/lbs. The box is in development now so hopefully we will be able to have one soon to road test.

After the New Year we will MOT the car and start the live mapping. Once this is complete and I'm happy, I will send the car off to have it's Martini stripes painted on. Then it's back to us to apply the Sportline and sponsors deacls.

Happy New Year,

David.

Hello,

Well the Lancia is all road legal now and I'm currently running in the new engine on about 1 bar of boost. There is still alot of mapping to do but the car feels very good indeed. There is virtually no lag at all and the engine is very responsive to say the least! Very happy man.

Still lots to do to finish the car off. Here's afew pics of the unfinished car.....
