Did I see this car today on the M4 around junction 3?

It was also yellow with very dark wheels and the same exhaust.
Not me unfortunately! The Milltek exhaust is a popular choice for the Cupra R, the other exhaust you see on them a lot are Blueflames. The big oval style exhaust is normal for this car though, even the standard OEM part is a 6"x4" oval, so the Milltek and Blueflame parts don't look wildly different, but both are reputed to A) sound a lot better than the OEM part (which in itself is not shabby) and B) last longer.

I had the pleasure of driving home tonight in a small convoy, a silver Lancer Evolution VII/VIII I've seen locally a few times, a blue Golf (bland) and then me behind. Got to a nice straight 40mph road and the Lancer at the front put his foot down. He didn't half rip off into the distance! Incredible acceleration, wish I'd been in some kind of Forza-esque alternate reality because I'd have put my foot down and had a bit play! The sound and the speed he ripped off at were impressive, as was the smell of petrol that it left in the air - talk about chucking a tenner down the exhaust! I'd love to meet the guy that owns the Lancer and have a bit chat to him, would love to have a bit poke around his car! I even managed 32.4mpg over the journy too, there was too much traffic to get my foot down so I was taking it easy instead. Even pootling in this thing is awesome, big comfy bucket seats, glowing red dials and popping and grumbling from the Milltek make even the most sedate of drives an absolute pleasure.
