Why are 964 pedals offset to the left?

Yes, they were all like it.
I believe it's basically because 964s are essentially LHD cars made to be RHD - so the pedals are basically crammed into the passenger footwell.
Yup, and Porsche were so poor at the time, with the 964 they left it like it. The 993 doesn't feel so bad, but I'm guessing really its the same, I've just got used to it.I believe it's basically because 964s are essentially LHD cars made to be RHD - so the pedals are basically crammed into the passenger footwell.

Nevetr had a problem with it myself, but
They are not all the same
later cars have the same pedal box as a 993 with the clutch closer to the brake than earlier cars, so you can rest your foot to the left of the clutch like most cars, not between the clutch and brake
That itself was a taciturn admission from Stuttgart that the original position wasn't all it could be. I find the LHD cars perfect, the '91 RHD C2 I briefly owned, horrendous. They are not all the same

I have a LHD 964 C2 and there is still an offset. Sadly I learned yesterday that no matter how I set the seat up (Sports seats) I get an intense pain in my left hip after a couple of hours' driving. I have some Recaro PPs which I'm going to try but I hope I don't have to sell the car because of this...

Question is what will you replace it with or will a RHD model make your situation better?Joel
