996 Turbo S production numbers - breakdown
Discussion
OK - sorry as these 'how many' threads do get a little tiresome
I am just hoping someone can assist me with more 'granular' stats than I currently have for the 996 turbo S, which suggest the following production numbers;
996 Turbo S coupe: 600
996 Turbo S Cabriolet: 963
What I am really hoping to ascertain is;

- How many by RHD / LHD x body type x gearbox type
I’ve never found a definitive answer. There are various threads on 911UK and Rennlist that offer more data, but not a complete breakdown.
The number 50 is plausible for RHD manual coupes, as obviously the vast majority of the production was LHD, and there were more autos than manuals. You can extrapolate a little from the “how many left” site, looking at 2005 registrations, which are all Turbo Ss, but it doesn’t help with the 2004 overlap.

The 118 number from the post above looks a high and I also have a feeling there were more autos!
I searched for this information when I purchased my car a while back and was told by a couple of specialist 40 or 60 Turbo S Coupe cars in both Auto/Manual form for the UK.

I'm not disputing that you have a factory contact.
The most surprising this is that there are twice as many manuals vs autos in your figures. I thought it was universally accepted that there were many more autos?
Unfortunately this just raises more questions than answers.
Why is it the Porsche GB cannot confirm figures, does anyone know the answer to that?

PS. They are rare cars never the less.

Back in the day the manual was always more popular. Changed when 997 was released and Porsche started marketing the tip as the faster car and belt and braces yuppy brigade all went for the tip
