X50 996 turbo
Just how poorly do you want to present a nice car?

Number plates damaged and not even a passing attempt to get them level
The state of the air filter!
Is something to do with the spoiler struts missing? I think the caps are missing at least.X50 996 turbo

I love this one. What a beast. Black/black/black perfect combo for this car.
We watched this roaring around the track at Goodwood for last year‘s FlatSix show. It sounded amazing and seemed to handle itself pretty well amongst the Modern stuff. Alois Ruf is a legend and this is a rare beast.
It’s interesting to see the asking price after the earlier thread. No many of these available me thinks.

Sure wouldnt hurt it thats for sure.. is it your Car? Car looks almost completely Converted to a 964 thats a shame. Id send the dials off to ruf… Interior also looks tired could do with a refresh .. the value of such a Car lies in orginality. Even if you need to reverse it back do it right and Get it close and it would help.. i think price is a bit optimistic. But you only need One buyer..

Does anyone keep a record of auction sale prices vs dealer prices for the same car? Gives an indication of what margin the dealers add when buying at auction.
Why is this relevant?? I'm not a dealer, but do understand they need to make a margin and we will have no idea what prep costs they need to do on a car for them to then re-sell. Why does knowing their original margin make a difference if you buy a car or not? Very odd!

I did a little spreadsheet (I was bored) of the more expensive Ferraris that go through vs dealer pricing the gross margin vs sale price inc fees was around 17%, but of course that assumes the dealer stock was bought at that price, a pista spider went through for 358k inc fees and appeared at Jardine for £405k the next week so that was 11%. All the usual caveats, dealers have overheads and profit isn't a dirty word etc....the SF90 was an eye opener as there was a 30% gap between the auction sold price and what was on the forecourts at the time.

I would have thought it would be obvious that it's a data point to help with price negotiation?
E.g. if the price at retail is very close to trade buy price, there's very little room for a big discount....
I'd disagree, size of margin makes no difference to any discount you may be able to negotiateE.g. if the price at retail is very close to trade buy price, there's very little room for a big discount....
Time in stock matters far more, so the price tracker website plug in's like 'Motorwatch' are much more valuable as a tool for negotiating on price

I also see the Trustpilot reviews for CC are taking a hammering..... (can't seem to post a link)
I do like the one where they should be called 'Collecting Fees' GLOL! Licence to print money. fantastic business model, for them
I've sold through watch collecting 3 times and they were very good, professional and slick even when a buyer dropped out they found another and match the winning bid, I think cars are harder a lot more to go wrong, you've got to read the T&Cs and do your research before buying on there.
