Seems to be a common theme with CC. Great service, super speedy, enthusiastic buyers. Just a slight tinge of disappointment on the price achieved. Definitely got the job done for me with my 997 GT3, but a couple of k more would have been perfect!
The CC buyer has to stump up for the buyer's premium though - so in theory, if the buyer is paying market price then the amount achieved would be a little under market value. Good for CC as it shows cars going for sensible money, and the commissions are very palatable compared to car auctions of old. Their competitor, Themarket.co.uk flip it around and get the seller to pay the premium. Of course, the net result could be the same - the seller gets a theoretically higher price as there is no buyer's commission for the buyer to consider in his/her bid, yet the seller then yields some of that higher price back as seller's commission. These sites are a welcome intermediate ground between ebay and Bonhams, Coys etc. I am guessing they don't escrow though, but I know too little about any kind of auction to know whether that happens in different arenas. I assume that you pay Coys and they divvy it up and also have custody of the vehicle at the time. When things get into the 100s of K, the worry is always whether you will get what you paid for and that is something that's less of a worry when dropping large sums to main dealers or established traders/auction houses.
I will no doubt be buying and selling on CC over the coming years and hopefully decades, just as I have bought and sold via PH classifieds (must be half a dozen cars at least with PH) but I am not sure the prices will ever be particularly low (unless for the really unusual or unwanted stuff) and I am sure with the interest CC is getting, the sellers will be getting fair to good prices that will be far better than trade bids. Bravo CC.

One for show, one for go-it’s got an hour left
A little surprised it didn’t go for more TBH It's a shame to see it go, we had some fantastic times in that car.

Mate is more than happy, it exceeded his estimations by quite a margin and even with fees it's much cheaper than the cheapest on the market-everyone happy.

Glad to hear it and i gather he is proving a new Cam Belt service for the new owner too. It's a shame to see it go, we had some fantastic times in that car.
Have seen pics of it at the ring too.
Used as intended !

20 % on top - he’ll never sell that if he doesn’t adjust the price. I tried to buy it when I was looking 20 months or so ago - wouldn’t move a euro and it had already been sitting there for over a year back then.
I know I’m biased, but I do think the deal on mine was good for the buyer - no regrets from me , very happy.
And now 5% import duty on secondhand cars imported from Europe ??I know I’m biased, but I do think the deal on mine was good for the buyer - no regrets from me , very happy.

I’m not 100% sure - I think it’s 20% VAT going to 5 % when a car is over 30 years old - it’s a bit grey tbh - but in reality, I think it basically means we are now in a bubble where it’s uneconomic to import cars from the EU. RSVP911 said:

The hand written engine number on the sticker seemed odd......
I have to say I thought the engine number was really odd - especially as it was marketed as a “matching numbers” car. Also, it wasn’t original paint, so I would definitely have wanted to see it before buying it to ensure it wasn’t hiding anything. Very hard to find “really good no story”, 964 RS’s . So interesting to know did the buyer pull it or did he have it pulled by CC. If I was guessing it would be the later - but as I say, only a guess - but I’d love to know as CC should really be doing some form of due diligence to ensure buyers claims are accurate.

So what do we deduce from this car now being offered at 137k when the fly yellow sold all in with commission for what will be a 50k difference ?
If there are some question marks over this car not sure why Ashgoods wouldnt mention this in the description.
Do we know why CC's pulled it from their auction ?
