996 Rear SB-Retractor
Discussion
My complete lack of self control meant it took me ages to find out what it was - I kept prodding every bit of trim, working the seat backs, etc, and it would go away for a couple of weeks, but finally I tried things just one at a time, and am now convinced I've found the source of a curious noise from the rear cabin of my 996.
Sometimes it's a rattle, but most of the time it's a sort of chirping squeak, oddly reminicent of the tyres of an old Alfa Sud that I used to drive, as they struggled for grip.
I'm convinced now that it's coming from the o/s/r seat belt (after a few tugs of the belt, it goes away for a while). Any clues on how to remove the retractor?
I knew having as many seats as wheels was going to be trouble.

Tried to find the retractor, but after removing loads of pointless and extremely heavy trim bits I got bored and went for a drive.
The squeak was as quiet as a mouse, so I put everything back using extra bits of neoprene rubber everywhere - and that seems to have done the trick.
Chief suspects are the trim below the rear screen, and the rear corner of the headlining.
