Stop me please
Discussion
I've had a 350i Wedge and 3 Chimaera.
Decided when I sold the last one I'd have a change from TVR but just seen this.

OK so it's a Cat C and the repairs aren't perfect apparently but if it came at the right price....
The chassis looks sound in the photos
Someone knock some sense into me please.

That was a really nice spec car pre-mishap. It must be one of the very last Mk1's. Light front & rear fibreglass damage is ok if the chassis is undamaged. However, a full respray at a minimum of £3.5k is going to put it at £22k and still Cat C (plus no engine rebuild and part home servicing but we won't go there). If you could get it for more like £16k that would make sense but it's a bit toppy for me unless you plan to keep it for 5+ years and just enjoy it.

Thanks for the guidanceIf it starts burning oil and you need a rebuild you’re into 6/8k, plus the paint 4k ish.
So you’re immediately upto 28k at best. Then there’s the yellowing carpets.
28k will get you a decent Tuscan and lots of other stuff.
16k would even get you something like this https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10659869?c...
Which makes a great noise.

That one in your link on EBay started off at £22k a few weeks ago and he’s been reducing it ever since. He has only owned it a short time himself and I suspect some desperation is settling in.
I’m sure the seller will eventually sell it to someone who will spend the money to make it a decent car albeit still with the stigma of a CAT marker and the hope that the engine doesn’t go bang anytime soon.

Thanks for the info, after reading the comments above, I'll quote Bob DylanI’m sure the seller will eventually sell it to someone who will spend the money to make it a decent car albeit still with the stigma of a CAT marker and the hope that the engine doesn’t go bang anytime soon.
"it ain't me, no, no, no, no, it ain't me your looking for"
I bought it :-)
To be honest is actually a decent car. Plenty of services and work in the past from Powers and Str8six and well looked after by previous owners.
Yes the paint isn't great in some areas and i may well end up sorting that in the future but it suits me to just drive it now.

There's evil in the air that keeps trying to drag me into the dark side.
Received a load of photos of a one for sale and I'm tempted.......
The receipts for servicing are scary compared to my old Chimaeras, the chassis is 20 years old and we all know about TVR chassis, the engine has had a rebuild already and that photo above of the Tuscan on the recovery truck is the main thing stopping me bidding......help!
