None of the restoration work has been carried out as yet. Kev's been a busy bunny trying to run a business and find work so the SD3's been a bit neglected apart from new (correct size tyres) for M.O.T that is. The clutch still hasn't been changed, the brakes are a bit sticky and where the car has been stored outside there are quite a few new rust spots, scrapes and scratches in the paintwork that has faded to the point of being matte on the bonnet, roof and boot lid. So first I had to clean and strip all the old wax off, t-cut the whole car, cut the bonnet, roof and boot again, clean the excess powder off with a wash wax shampoo, Mer polish the whole car twice and then Triple Wax the bonnet roof and boot. So she's almost presentable for King's Lynn Cruises tomorrow.
I don't know what's worse the use and abuse the car got from me or neglect being sat in a garden/garage since.

I'm thinking of getting one of these - a 57k 216 SE on an F plate. Haven't seen it yet, but it is allegedly a minter. Won't be much money, so tempted to get it to hang on to for a few years (not quite sure why though!)
Because they're brilliant. Look out for smoke and an oil patch under the car. The SE was a step below the Vitesse and arguably the best of the "O" Series powered cars. Feel free to continue the thread. Gassing Station | Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
