Sold to my mate Kev for £250. smile

He's been pestering me for the car since I bought the old girl so at least I know she's in good hands. wink

Also just up the road so I can keep you up to date and even have first refusal if he decides to sell.

Just an update. I've been round Kev's today and the Rover may be in his shed by the weekend. For a pre-M.O.T check over and polish. wink

Once M.O.T'd she'll be doing the classic car show circuit. smile

Guess you visited today?

None of the restoration work has been carried out as yet. Kev's been a busy bunny trying to run a business and find work so the SD3's been a bit neglected apart from new (correct size tyres) for M.O.T that is. The clutch still hasn't been changed, the brakes are a bit sticky and where the car has been stored outside there are quite a few new rust spots, scrapes and scratches in the paintwork that has faded to the point of being matte on the bonnet, roof and boot lid. So first I had to clean and strip all the old wax off, t-cut the whole car, cut the bonnet, roof and boot again, clean the excess powder off with a wash wax shampoo, Mer polish the whole car twice and then Triple Wax the bonnet roof and boot. So she's almost presentable for King's Lynn Cruises tomorrow.

I don't know what's worse the use and abuse the car got from me or neglect being sat in a garden/garage since.

I'm thinking of getting one of these - a 57k 216 SE on an F plate. Haven't seen it yet, but it is allegedly a minter. Won't be much money, so tempted to get it to hang on to for a few years (not quite sure why though!)

Because they're brilliant. Look out for smoke and an oil patch under the car. The SE was a step below the Vitesse and arguably the best of the "O" Series powered cars. Feel free to continue the thread. smile

I have agreed to buy the car unseen, and will pick it up next Thursday. Bit of tax, and March MOT, with 54k, not 57.

I'm actually looking forward to it a surprising amount for some reason!

Too tempting. wink

Sound like a bargain, in a worst case scenario the banger boys will double that.

The banger boys won't be going anywhere near it, I know that much at least!

Actually saw the car today - its an F plate 216 EFI Auto. According to How Many Left, its the only one left on an F that is still on the road!

It really does look lovely and clean - couple of small bits of corrosion on the rear arches, but apart from that, its fine.

I've started a new thread in here with a bit more info, just to keep things tidy.
