just gorgeous. When you go to sleep and imagine yourself on that perfect drive in a car you can't identify, you wake up and can't pinpoint the shape. You see bits of that unimaginable car in certain beauties... 360 Modena there, mclaren here, some ascari in other places... but none of those were quite it. They all have their visual foibles, usually tied into "heritage." The Farboud doesn't have any, and it's perfect looking. I would have one and just seal it in a glass case and stare at it. damn. I'd have a noble for the real thrashing. whew.... this just pips the ford GT and Honda/Acura HSC in my book of modern hot cars.

yes please , now what was that "siameesed twin bike blocks" v8 called , might be a good "bespoke motor" just a thought
you mean like the v8 top fuel bike engine built by Rodger using two yamaha fj 12 top ends on billet cases and later sold by Ian King to someone!!!!not a bad way to go with so meany bike engines now used in small race car its worth a look at thanks for that i will have a proper look at it it's still under the bench.why not we were getting 375 bhp from old z1000 with just a turbo, and thats only 4 pots
nice, how long did it last?

just found it at www.cyclonepowerltd.co.uk but only produces 302 hp as a 2 litre and not enough tourque , as a 2.6 it could be interesting.
But, the Cyclone has been built on a crank designed to take up to 450bhp by turbocharging. Turbos should help with the torque too...

Whats the USP on this?
If he can survive on 20 cars a year then fine, but that sounds like a ride into oblivion.
So its a mid engined junior supercar much like an Espirit. But that had the weight of Lotus behind it.
There is no new ground being broken and the word 'generic' seems to crop up an awful lot, and who wants generic for their dream car?
There is a solution.
Make it gob-smacking in some way.
Get the motoring press saying it is 'gods gift because it has X'.
The big boys seem to have gone with trick doors at the moment (apart from Zonda - but that has jaw dropping looks anyway).
So its about £20K more than a Noble, which is now established. Apart from the engine layout you dont seem to get anything different and the Noble is more handsome IMHO.
I reckon Farboud needs to have a long chat with Wheeler, a man who seems to understand niche marketing quite well.
Anyone seen an Invicta recently?

20 cars a year isn't necessarily a ride into oblivion... I left your quote regarding Zonda in the reply because Zonda builds 15 cars a year and you define them as one of the "big boys"...
I don't know enough about the economics of small scale car manufacturing to know if it is a feasible business plan or not. I got to speak to Mr. Pagani briefly about 2 months ago, and he found a way to make it viable!
20 cars a year at 70k is 1.4 million GBP. Take out materials and overhead and you are not left with a whole lot. My understanding is that both Noble and Pagani are experiencing very tough times.
I hope Farboud succeeds. I don't care about the name or if the engine is Audi. If it goes super fast and has amazing handling, and looks as good as it does...it's gonna sell.

Some more detail in the article would be useful:
1. What does it weigh?
2. Torque?
3. How much for power upgrades, etc?
I think it looks OK but it's how it drives that will decide if it succeeds or fails and we have no info on that. It'll need to be pretty special to win over paying punters that may be looking at used 360's, 996 Turbos/GT3's and Nobles, IMO.
Anyway, good luck to them.

stevenrt said:What total crap. The Noble M12 was already firmly established in the wish lists and, indeed, garages of car enthusiasts before Clarkson came along and spurted out a load of verbal wank about it. All he did was being it to the attention of the common man - to whom the car probably has little interest anyway.
It may well be a great car, but without Clarkson's reviews it wouldn't have succeeded. For some reason this man seems to have a Svengali like grip over you people in the U.K., I'm sure if he dropped a turd and stuck four little wheels on it and declared it "The best car I have driven in my life" sales would go through the roof (in the U.K.).
If anyone deserves any credit for raising the awareness of the M12 it is AutoCar, EVO, PistonHeads for covering the car, and Noble themselves for attending several Motor Shows.
I don't recall when I first discovered the car - it was either at a Motor Show or it was from reading AutoCar / EVO / PHeads. It sure as hell wasn't from watching Top Gear!

@ £70k theres not a huge room for profit - Pagani charge considerably more and can probably build in a lot more leeway.
And who has not heard of Pagani - their profile is pretty high amongst cognoscenti.
Just spoke to Arash Farboud and as Fixit says, they've been testing at Millbrook on the bowl, alpine circuit and the handling circuit.
The car will be at the motor show too for anyone who wants a close up look.
All being well I'll be back to visit them in a few weeks time to get a first hand look at progress.
