Gearbox Cap / Plug

After the MOT visit I have a few things to do:

One is an oil leak at the gearbox.

On first inspection it may be coming from somewhere above where the exhausts cross over towards the drive shaft.

My question is: what is the cap/plug marked below which seems to be held in place with a black screw and black piece of metal for want of a better description?

That's the blanking plug for the redundant speedo drive.

I have found a replacement in the US

But the postage is more than the part!

Can the plugs be sourced in Europe?

You almost certainly don't need a new plug, just a new O-ring.

Hello Paul - here´s a better picture of the heatshield - i can´t see that it could be fixed differently although it doesn´t look like it will repel much heat as it is!
