How Many Countach's Left In UK
Discussion
Had mine out over weekend just as m normal car and for a few long runs. Driven about 600km so far in past few days.
Had her up the west coast of Scotland to Inverarry and Oban. Roads were quite quiet yesterday so had a clear run.
It's sad so few are left in the UK. It is like driving a fairground attraction. Every time you park it up or come back to the car there are people about it, asking about it or taking photos. It's quite unusual in that many people know what it is. Can't be many cars like that.
Although the values appear to be rising and a few people are interested in buying her, there can be few cars that give you that feeling of fun, thrills and owning a piece of history like the countach.

Not a countach owner, but whilst visiting a Ferrari specialist, I noticed an LP400 1975, in dark blue undergoing a radiator & cooling hose refurb. Looked so small compared to today's exotica. Very nice though. I was hoping the owner just wanted to get rid of it and I might make a cheeky bid! Alas, not the case, but looking very cool the same
It might frighten you as to how much you would have to bid to get a LP400! Were only 140 made and our cousins in the USA are VERY VERY keen on them.
What do you reckon you would have to bid?
Nice to know of another in the UK as don't think there are many left. Possibly under 5?
Any more details on it would be nice.

well I got the impression it would have to be north of £200K. I was thinking £80K, but then reality settled in I thought, what if I chuck in my CS, how close would I get. I believe its part of a collection. Looked original, complete & the bodywork was sound. What do you reckon you would have to bid?

Good evening guys, hope nobody minds this post!
I sat down to watch a gift from the other half (Cannonball run...don't ask), and it got me feeling a touch nostalgic, thinking back to a couple of posters I had on my wall growing up of a white Countach and a red Porsche 959. I figured I'd log onto Pistonheads and try my luck!
I noticed a few posts of people confessing to be photographically challenged, so maybe we can help each other! I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire/Lincolnshire, and if anyone has an hour or two to spare in the coming months, I'd like to offer a free photoshoot for a Countach. There's no catch; I can't compensate any travelling costs but will include free digital images as well as a finite amount of prints in sizes up to A3. I've done two free photoshoots for PH members over the last 2 years (an F360CS and TVR Sagaris), although these were both shot with comparatively limited skills/equipment.
If anyone is interested, either let me know in here or via Rogue86@live.co.uk; similarly if you would prefer to see examples of previous work to show I'm not just a charlatan with a shiny camera, then please don't hesitate to ask. In the mean-time, there are some examples on my site at Rogue86.com.
All I'm really looking to achieve is some nice images for my own portfolio and to get a good close-up look in the metal at a childhood hero. There was a shiny red one at the PH Marham trackday a few years ago (along with an F40 which is the next car on my photographic hit list), but I didn't want to pester the owner so never got close, and regretted it ever since!
Hopefully hear from some of you soon. If a few of you are interested in getting together, this can also be arranged.
Regards,
Graham

I think real world prices are well north of £200k Although 140 were built they were regarded as the least collectable or good cars so a few were left to rot. Plus the write offs etc and perhaps there are less than 100 left worldwide. They are very popular in the USA and even a few years ago were fetching $300k+ There are fanatical supporters of each type, but £80k will probably not put you into any model of countach today! I hope the values do continue to rise. But time and reality will always level prices out

There is a doctor who lives on Canvey Island who has a beautiful Countach, I have seen it for probably the last 10 years on and off in the summer months. It's in his garage the rest of the time and I I have walked past a few times and seen it sitting there, but never had the chance to stop and take a proper look. It looks cool though!
Thanks for the comment's, After all these years I still love it.
911944, although many years ago the car was redone I was led to believe it's original
Even though I love it I was thinking of selling but not sure how much it's worth now. I just don't use it enough and it's a very large toy
