Ferrari & Porsche PH Test Fest
Discussion
Right guys some of us have been chatting on this forum about swapping passenger rides for scientific comparison. The time is now!
I propose we do something west of London (Berkshire ish) that way no one should have to travel more 100 miles each way.
I don't know where we should hold such an event, us country bumpkins and Essex boys should bow to local knowledge.
However, I suggest sunday 22nd september whilst the sunshine is still here (snigger). Does anyone second this motion or have a problem with this date.
Ideas for location and relevent tunnels for the Tifosi and TreVoR boys?
DAZ
PS - Although aimed at the PHers who've been mouthing off at each other on the Ferrari and Porsche boards, all are welcome particularly if you bring exotica for us all to drool over and ogle at, such as Ultimas Masers and TreVoRs etc.

It's clear that these "hoons" (great word Kevin!) are going to become a regular feature of our lives I think. (especially while the weather is OK). What's also clear is that we really really NEED some decent roads - twisties - along with some Motorway slip roads. With all-out "combat-ready" cars like the 360 Modenas and 996TTs along with Tuscan racers and Ultimas we will need to pick the roads carefully otherwise the whole exercise will become VERY frustrating.
We also need a slightly smaller, longer tunnel than Hatfield - something with less traffic. Someone yesterday suggested Southwick Bypass as the ultimate tunnel (South London I think) - I don't know it - does anyone here know it?

Dazren - Our little offices are opposite Maranello Sales - literally down the road from Virginia Water.
We could use the office as "the base" from which to launch the "attack" (No Ninja - I meant on the roads - not the local female population - in fact that goes for you too Dom!)
We've got LOADS of parking around the back - we could all meet there!
Egham has a few nice pubs/watering holes within walking distance. We have motorway slip roads nearby, a tiny "tunnel," and apparently where the bikers meet in Chobham and around Box Hill (sic?) there are some good driving roads - but this latter point is yet to be explored and confirmed. (who knows Surrey/Windsor/ etc well?)
Of course we could all pull into Maranellos in a MASSIVE convoy asking for a test drive of this supposedly stodgy 575M too......

The meet is at the large National Trust car park on the A30(3x£1 coins required to park there)by the lake. There is a Pub next to it.
There are some good roads in the area ie twisties.Avoid Box Hill it will be packed with Bikers and crawling with plod though.
Daz,
Virginia Water is a few miles West of Egham on the A30.
