My 2018 New Years resolution was to cease and desist from Facebook / Instagram / Twitter, Whatsapp. It was tough, but I've been "clean" for 24 months now and have no intention of "using" again.

My world is now a better place, but as far as getting to know about supercar meets / driving events / Tours etc I might as well have moved house to Mars.

Even as a member of the Mcowners club I seem to find out about stuff 3 months after the event.

Hey ho, ............... I'm NEVER going back to F.B. ...... EVER.

Out of curiosity what caused such an extreme reaction.

I’m not a huge farcebook fan, but forums and clubs seem to be largely relocating there.
I only created an account recently - and only did so because the McLaren owners club is on there, plus other car stuff. I use it pretty much the same as I use my browser - to look at posts on the groups I belong to, and nothing else. Don't bother with the whole "friends" thing at all.

Yes, that’s exactly how I use it. A few car groups and a wood fired oven group.

I don’t get all this posting, “having dinner” or a picture of a pint with a comment like “at the pub”. When did that become cool. It’s mind boggling people have that much time on their hands.

Apologies, admin error on my part. Had so many emails that I somehow missed yours (and maybe others???).

If anyone is still waiting for a membership number please get in touch.

And thanks to everyone for the kind words

As Andy previously commented, Four Marks Supercar Club is based in the south of the UK, covering Hampshire, Surrey, London, Berkshire, Dorset, West Sussex & East Sussex

SCD meets have a northern bias and I only managed to attend 2 in my 12 months of membership so probably won't renew.

For London & the South East a combination of Four Marks and GRRC membership is plenty. Unless you have a McLaren then join the McLaren Owners Club as something happening almost every weekend. But Four Marks is the club to join in the SE.

Here in Los Angeles, there is a driving group that has meetups and drives about every two months. It's called Malibu Autobahn. It will typically meet at a remote shopping center for two hours on an early Sunday morning, then a 90 minute ride through the Santa Monica mountains out to the ocean with a follow up meet on the beach in Malibu. At the last drive in late February, over 300 participants, mostly exotics took part. Great show!

Penrhyn,
Thanks, fifty years after its introduction, I still think its design looks fresh and contemporary. And when I show up to these meets, most of the drivers are too young to even know what the heck it is among the droves of McLarens, Lamborghinis, and the like. Come out to Los Angeles for a visit and you're welcome to take it out for a day. It's crude and rude by today's standards but still a thril at about 40" off the ground and a ferocious cacophony that makes an F-type R seem silent behind your head.

SCD is really good however when you say north it’s not rally north there’s plenty from Sheffield down to London going on, we’re near Newcastle and it’s about an hours drive to meet up with them to go on the runs ets , cracking bunch once your out but it’s a task to get there initially.
