Donno if it's anyone on here - but I was chasing a 360 Spider up and down the A23 next to Caterham - it was me grinning like a mad grinny thing shouting "lovely car" at you out of the Noble!

Boy I love those things! Next year *maybe*.

I too absolutely love the 360 Spider. Just gorgeous.

Can't have one though. Not only are they expensive but the budget is required for something else in the automotive line...just got to get saving now!

Hmmmn. Anyone need my Timesheeting software? All proceeds to a very worthy cause.

Don.

You can't say something like that around here without the rest of us not being able to sleep at night pondering your future purchase. Give us a clue.

cheers

Really, Squire?

Could you seriously trade the immediacy of the current beastie for that awesome, yet cultured, 8500 rpm banshee siren call? (When a lowly VX220 Turbo can trade blows in the give & take of real world B-road blats - according to EVO this month...)

Yes, I thought so!

Don't you think you're just coming to the inevitable conclusion of any vastly well heeled PHer, that a fine slice of Modenese cheese becomes irresistable with age, like a fine claret or successful stud? (Steady.)

Don't you fancy an Ultima GTR though? Ridiculously quick; full NASCAR soundtrack; looks to slay and a price ticket just this side of "should I donate my eternal soul to Beelzebub" reasonable.

I'm sure you could find a place in your commodious automotive sanctuary?

Anyway, what'd be wrong with an F355 Spider? Ok, moderately down on grunt but so what? The boys from Manu Central will reassure you as to the acoustic merits and style wise...is it not the epoch-making crescendo of Pininfarina's lineage?

Might one suggest that Sir merely turns up the volume. Should drown out the rabble.

Edited to say - there is sooo much room for ambiguity in what I've just said so leave it out - friggin perves....

Something Newton forgot to mention:

Ferrari + Eurobollox regulation = Must get Decatted Tubi.

Charlie having heard Bernard & Basher's 355s and Richs "halfway" 360, you won't be dissappointed.

I think Don's looking for a replacement for the Chimp actually - certainly this was what he hinted at in a previous mail.

If he was to chop in the Boxster (which I doubt), it would have the word "Carrera" on the back of it.

The car you speak of, is probably a "local", the car belongs to a local client and is almost new and up for sale a mere £120K to you !

Who said anything about getting rid of the Noble

For me it's the sheer looks of the 360S - it could have a Mondeo engine in it for all I care. I seriously can't get on with the Ultima looks - and Nick doesn't like the look of them either so it's a no go.

For me the shape and presence is at least 75% of the equation...

Anyway, what'd be wrong with an F355 Spider? Ok, moderately down on grunt but so what?

Nah - just not in the same league - the F355S looks just like a "chopped" 355 - and not a very good chop at that - where as the 360S just looks as though it was designed as a spider from the word go....

Joust,

The 360 was designed from the start as a Spider which is why it is so structurally sound as a coupe.

The only better looking spider Ferrari ever made was the California, one of the all time great looking and handling cars, even did well at le Mans

Those who know me know I am not full of sh*t so I am happy to say what I am going to say (Manu shut up !!)

I was going to buy a 360 spider but after having one for the weekend in all the right colours for me (red crema and black carpets) It was stunning I agree - until you stood either directly in front of it (when it looked to wide and scooped like a shovel rather than a dart) and those front lights really do not do it for me and from the side there was not really a line as such - it was all very fussy with the back being far higher than the front and it all looked a little odd.....in black I think it is far far better but I am not a lover of dark cars - the rest of it - the interior the drivers posn the engine (and that fabulous glass panel) are marvellous but at 50k over the 355 spider I decided I was not convinceed enough....

and a 355 still sounds better

maybe it will grow on me over the next couple of years (esp as prices come back to earth rather than dealer stratosphere at the moment)- but it will have to be black i think
