Anyone out there a member? What do they actually do? Are there any trackdays, or is it all champagne receptions and gala dinners?

Yep, I'm a member and it's quite good, very good monthly mag and an extra optional quarterly very very nice glossy mag.

They organise trackdays, monthly regional meets and other social events.

It's not cheap at £70 per year but hey, you've got a Ferrari so what's the problem.

Cosmic was over at Silverstone the other day going through some of the details of our wedding, and the Ferrari Owners Club were having a day on the track. Apparantly it sounded awesome. I'm quite jealous that I wasn't with her.

Agree with bertie. Also, yes it costs 70 quid, but I get 50 quid off my insurance PA (with AON) for being with them (I guess it could be any recognised f-car club) so I look at it as being only 20 quid per year.

The monthly mag is good, they have local area meetings every month (though never been), and one big weekend concours shindig in June (or was it July, forget) which last year was fab (400 to 500 f-cars in one place at the same time .... mind blowing !)

The mag's also a good source of cars and bits for sale, and suppliers around the UK.

Oh, also forgot, they organise driving days and teaching days. On May 8th they're doing a hill climb tutition day (in your own car) at (I think it was) Prescott Hill. Coz it's subsidised it's only £80 for the day for members .... bargain !

They also do trips abroad etc, but they're £££. And the posh dinners etc, but I just ignore those ....

sounds worth it then - like the sound of hillclimb tuition! Still first things first - got to get the car yet!

supermarket kiddies ride on... enough said Flash

(i dont think my one year old had seen a convertable car, so when flasher turned up in his and little one came out to say goodbye he took one look at andys bright yellow metallic tamora and decided it was one of the supermarket ride on thingies...should have seen him wanting a go, i think he thought he was on hols again).

((Oh and before he gets a chance Mrs Flasher said the 456 dials which are recessed in to the dash look like the ones from a ford cortina 1600E...the fact they ripped off a daytona is neither here nor there..))

yeah that was funny.... my naive wife "oooh I like that dash Ben, it's like a Ford Cortina 1600E"

Nearly choked to death laughing....
