Do you have any more information, such as what will be going on during the day, what there is to see etc? Sorry if it's a stupid question but I've never been to Brooklands.

Might make Saturday. Sunday, as you quite rightly point out, is footie and and therefore a complete .

Have a look at www.brooklandsmuseum.com

Seems Saturday will be biased towards kit cars, whilst Sunday is for sportscars. However, both are welome on either day!

I love Brooklands, it has a great atmosphere. If it's anything like other cars shows I've visited there, you'll get a chance to see all the cars lined up for inspection. Late in the afternoon, the cars get a chance to go "up the hill". It's something like a 1 in 4 with a massive hump at the top. Excellent viewing, although if the cars don't slow down quickly enough at the top, you'll hear the most sickening graunches as noses hit the tarmac!!!

The museum is worth a visit (part of the entry fee). The Napier Railton is worth the visit alone. There are plenty of interesting racing cars to see and the history of Brooklands is "bought alive". There are also various planes dotted about (it is an airfield afterall). There's also the Wellington hanger, which displays, amoungst other planes, the Wellington bomber that was pulled out of Loch Ness.

I'll probably attend on Sunday now, as I prefer the idea of sprtcars to kitcars (no offence, just a personal preference).

Hope to see some of you there.

Brooklands is great and I'd love to see some of the cars that will be turning up. But what do they define as a 'sports car' exactly? My old Lotus would have got in no problem but if I turn up now in the Civic Type-R what do you think my chances would be?!!!

Sounds like Sunday would be the better day for me aswell, but I can't miss the footie, I just can't!! Sod it, I'll probably clatter up there on Saturday anyway.

Adeewuff, if you go on Saturday, I'll keep an eye out for someone berating the jobsworth on the gate, whilst indulging in much arm waving, and gesticulating wildly at a CTR.

Depends on the guy or gal on the gate, I suppose.

I'll be there in my lardyassed GT (300ZX), but they'd better qualify it as a sportscar or else

Nice piccie.

We were fotunate enough to be able to park on the banking last year during an event. I took the opportunity to take a few snaps too.

Hard to imagine those old beasts charging around all those years ago.....

I will try and make this myself as I'm only down the road, but I have shed loads of technical shite to get through tomorrow. Could someone grab some pictures of the event please? Goodies in return

£8, might get the misses to hide in the boot!

Anyone going to be coming up on the Saturday from Camberley direction, we could convoy it up there.

Stoopid question Ted - I guess you'll need the piccies taken via a digital camera?

I can only offer the old "analogue" version

Well I went along on Saturday and had an excellent day out. Saw some interesting machinery including an Ultima Spyder (see www.shithotfast.com)

Did see a gentleman sporting a PH baseball cap but couldn't say hello as I was stuffing my face in the cafe. Any attempted greeting would have resulted in me showering the poor chap with half-eaten Marmite crisps.

Did anyone else go or take any piccies?

I was there on Saturday as well, I think I took a couple of photos of your Mantis as it looked fantastic!

I think what made the day was seeing that Jaguar Le Mans car pull into the car park. I would have loved to have seen the faces of the people driving along with it on the M25!

Not sure I'd fancy driving that Jag on a hot day like Saturday. Seemed to be lacking in cockpit ventilation. Is there a "sweating like a bastard" smiley?
