Excellent day! Well done Don, SimonT and Whatever . Popped me convoy drive cherry and loved every minute.

Didn't get to speak to many, but by the time I'd queued up for me pig on a stick, Mrs Imelda had rifled through the second hand books and second hand tat stalls, watched a bit of football and queued up for more pig there wasn't much time.

Thanks to ajvmoore for teaching me about Tuscans. A pleasure to speak to someone so passionate about his car, despite the attentions of the (pissed up, I suspect) twat from Bosche . I can only assume he just doesn't understand TVRs.

Cool wing-mirror photo Carzee - very clever!

TC390SE - Your wedge sounded very nice as you left. Made Mrs Imelda quite moist I think.

Finally - good luck for tomorrow Domster.

Don, Simont, Whatever

As has been said before, thanks for organising another really good day out. The route was superb! Sorry to Carzee and Mrs Carzee for slowing down over one of the big dips in the road, I thought I was going to grenade my nice shiny new front spoiler.
I really enjoyed myself, see you all at the next one

Sorry Dom mate, my fault too...whose car were you in ?

Next time....we can compare notes on your RS (which looks lovely, BTW - is it in this/last month's 911 & PW ?)

Too busy enjoying the weather, blagging beer off CarZee/buying beer for CarZee, and getting humiliated at the crockery smashing stand

Sorry Dom - apparently, with some help from the lure of drinking beer and smashing stuff I was guilty of monopolising Greg

I'm sure that the rest of the time he was rummaging at the tat stall though, looking for a bargain

Ah yes, guilty as charged mate, but not before you came back from the book stand and announced "Sorry, I've had all the good books - there's only tat left".
Still, what's a few Secret Seven books and Mills & Boon between friends, eh ?

Domster,

The black 968 CS was mine. Glad you liked it. Shame that there weren't more Porsches there - it'll be good to see your RS when you get it.

Barry.

I'll bring my example of the finest German engineering to the next one guys...looking forward to seeing your car, Domster. And sorry for not mentioning the excellent 968..lovely car.

It was nice to the the S2000, Ultimas and Imelda's fabulous Marcos too.

The variety of the cars made for a great (and interesting) display for both us and the fete-goers I thought.

We must have made quite a sight as we arrived all together engines roaring!

You may well snigger, but I got a hardbacked George Orwell anthology for a quid - in good nick too.

Hi everyone,

RS has been delayed yet again... rear brake discs being flown in from Stuttgart apparently, after MoT failure on Monday and no UK stock of those parts! Oh well, one day I'll get my hands on it.

I was in adam b's purple cerbera, me being the lanky git with the yellow glasses for future reference

Imelda - saw R4CER on the MR2 yesterday, was definitely R4 at the start. I will check to make sure not CBR or OER at the end. Couldn't spot misplaced bolts, but will check v carefully before you inform the DVLA!!!

Imelda, I saw the MR2 again today - I think it is R4OER with a cheeky white bolt making the O look like a C - so much so that you will definitely get her (I think it's a girl driver) speeding fines. I will try and double check over the next day or so, but even looking for signs of tampering it still looks like your plate.

Legally, it may be worth a mention to the DVLA or something, as 99% of the public (and police) will read it as R4CER and if they are involved in an accident you may be getting strange letters from the copshop.

Just going back to the local plod with his speed trap, what was he using, radar or laser?

The reason I ask is that after my little wedding present from Norhamptonshire Constabulary (see www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=10&h=&t=12922) I'm trying to decide what combination of detectors to get. Obviously a Geodesy or Origin Blue, but what else? A radar detector, a laser detector, or (slightly more dodgy) a laser jammer?
Can't afford all 3 though, so will probably not get the radar detector. However, if the plod in question was using radar then it does beg the question as to whether a radar detector is required.

Obviously this is all because I want to be a safer driver and my little mishap of doing 50mph in a temporary 40mph limit is a salutory lesson in the fact that I need some electronic aids to remind me when I'm speeding and therefore make me a safer driver.
